CNN/HLN Host Was 'Special Guest' at Gay Censors' Friday Event in NYC

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is a powerful force inside the media to drive any conservative point of view off CNN and other cable news networks. On Friday in New York, they planned a "Thank GLAAD It's Friday" event, and one of the "special guests" is openly gay CNN Headline News host Jane Velez-Mitchell. There's also NBC helpers, as the event's webpage proclaimed:

GLAAD presents our national networking event series for young LGBT professionals and straight allies in New York City, featuring ABSOLUT Vodka, powered by OUT@NBCUniversal this June!

What does "powered by" mean? (Wouldn't we assume "funded by"?) Out@NBC Universal is touted as a "Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender and Straight Ally Employee Alliance." The question is whether anyone at NBC is allowed NOT to belong to this kind of politically correct alliance.

Velez-Mitchell is also listed on the "host committee" for this GLAAD event. Admission is $20, but for higher rates, attendees can get full GLAAD memberships, so this event is a fundraiser and membership builder.

This is apparently par for the course. Here's another episode of HLN and NBC uniting for GLAAD: "MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell and HLN's Jane Velez-Mitchell present the GLAAD Media Award in the Outstanding Digital Journalism - Multimedia at the 22nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards presented by ROKK Vodka at New York's Marriott Marquis, March 19, 2011."
