Not a Shock: ABC Skips Mrs. Stephanopoulos’s Vow to Move to Australia If Hillary Lost

November 16th, 2016 11:45 AM

In a twist that will surprise very few conservatives, ABC’s Good Morning America on Wednesday devoted almost ten minutes to interviewing the wife of George Stephanopoulos, but never mentioned Ali Wentworth’s vow to flee the country if Hillary Clinton lost the White House.

While talking to the Hollywood Reporter on November 1, the actress/wife declared, “If Trump wins, we’ll start looking at real estate in Sydney, Australia. No crime, no guns.” Her husband, the ABC anchor, worked for Bill Clinton and secretly donated $75,000 to the Clinton Foundation.

Instead, the show’s hosts, including Mr. Stephanopoulos, spent nine minutes and 49 seconds on subjects such as Wentworth’s new TV series and her husband being declared one of People’s sexiest men.

These were the types of questions asked on Wednesday:

ALI WENTWORTH: [Motioning to her husband] One of the sexiest men in America.

LARA SPENCER: Something you’ve known for a long time.

ROBIN ROBERTS: And he owes it all to you.

WENTWORTH: Yes. And I never make anything close to that list as a peri-menopausal housewife.

MICHAEL STRAHAN: But answer me this, when George made the list yesterday, we put out the cut out. Did he come home with a different swagger?

WENTWORTH: He came home even more depressed and deflated than he usually does. So, no, Michael. No, it might be something that makes you with your chest held high. This one just hides under the bed.

Somehow no mention was made of what appears to be yet another broken pledge to leave the country if Clinton lost.
