Of Course: Jimmy Kimmel Uses MSNBC Goof to Mock Conservatives

February 24th, 2016 3:28 PM

It probably shouldn’t shock anyone that Jimmy Kimmel on Tuesday used a moment of great embarrassment for the liberal MSNBC and turned it into an attack on conservatives. On Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host related, “On MSNBC, they had a live report from an indoor gun range in Reno, which really gave us some insight into the current mood among GOP voters.” In a clip, journalist Kerry Sanders began to speak as gunfire drowned him out.

As reported on NewsBusters, it sounded like this: “A short distance away later today [BLAM] Donald Trump [BLAM] — protect the Second Amendment.” Kimmel mocked, “See, what happened is The Second Amendment drowned out the First Amendment. And [Sanders] was too scared to turn around and tell them to shut up."

At the end of the segment on Tuesday, Andrea Mitchell conceded, “Well, Kerry, I'm afraid we could not hear most of that because the fire power was a little too great. Sorry, we didn’t know you were going to be there today.”

JIMMY KIMMEL: On MSNBC, they had a live report from an indoor gun range in Reno, which really gave us some insight into the current mood among GOP voters.

KERRY SANDERS: As you see over my shoulder, there are lots of folks here who believe the Second Amendment in this country is under attack.

[Gunfire ] And they’re saying that [gunfire] — A short distance away later today [gunfire] Donald Trump [gunfire] — protect the Second Amendment. All the Republicans — [gunfire]

KIMMEL: See, what happened is The Second Amendment drowned out the First Amendment. And he was too scared to turn around and tell them to shut up.
