Leno: 'My Leaving the Show Has Nothing to do With Baby My Housekeeper Had a Couple of Weeks Ago'

Jay Leno continues to have fun with his looming departure from NBC's Tonight Show.

In a series of jokes about the subject during Thursday's opening monologue, Leno quipped, "My leaving the show has nothing to do with the baby my housekeeper had a couple of weeks ago."

"In all seriousness now, some experts believe that North Korea may have the missile capacity to reach Los Angeles," Leno teased. After a pause, he tapped his forehead and said, "That's why NBC's moving the Tonight Show to New York. Of course, of course! It makes perfect sense. Yes!"

After the laughter and applause died down, Leno continued, "You know, there's been so much talk and all this stuff on the internet. I want to set the record straight on that. My leaving the show has nothing to do with the baby my housekeeper had a couple of weeks ago, okay? That, that was totally coincidental."

Leno of course was making fun of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

"No, the real reason I'm leaving," he added, "and I'm little embarrassed by this, I don't mind saying this - you probably have seen this on YouTube. A video has surfaced of me in the middle of a writers meeting trying to motivate some of my people, and I admit, I'm embarrassed by this."

What followed was a video of Leno behaving like former Rutgers basketball coach Mike Rice verbally attacking his writers, throwing basketballs at them, and physically abusing them.

Funny stuff.
