Instant Karma Strikes Chris Matthews: AARP Advertises Medicare Supplement Insurance on His Show

"Instant Karma's gonna get you. Gonna knock you right in the head." - John Lennon

With Lennon in mind, a day after MSNBC Hardball host Chris Matthews said for the umpteenth time that no one will sell senior citizens health insurance, AARP ran ad on his show promoting - wait for it! - Medicare Supplement Insurance (video follows with commentary).

As NewsBusters reported Thursday, Matthews is regularly making the completely false claim that no one will sell health insurance to seniors.

Quite the contrary, Medicare Supplement Insurance - or what is also referred to as Medigap Insurance - is a booming business in America with currently almost 10 million policy holders.

As such, Matthews is either ignorant of this incontrovertible fact, or is lying to his viewers.

Whichever the case, he should be required to retract his comments regarding this matter and tell the truth.

And now a word from John Lennon:

Instant Karma's gonna get you
Gonna knock you right in the head
You better get yourself together
Pretty soon you're gonna be dead!
