Leno: '10 Million Hispanics Could Be Blocked From Voting in November - And That's Just in LA'

"A civil rights group said today that up to 10 million Hispanics could be blocked from voting in the upcoming election because of these changes to the voting laws. 10 million. And that's just here in L.A."

So quipped NBC Tonight Show host Jay Leno Monday (video follows with commentary):

Leno was referring to Monday's controversial report by the Advancement Project.

Of course, the reality is that only people not legally eligible to vote would be prevented to do so by any of the laws being implemented across the country, a fact media members conveniently ignore as they try to enflame the public about this issue.

Fortunately, voters don't seem to be buying the scare tactics as a Washington Post poll in July found 74 percent of respondents favor voter ID laws.
