Krauthammer Tells 'Inside Washington' Moderator 'That’s a Clown Question, Bro'

Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer demonstrated surprising internet and Twitter savvy on PBS's Inside Washington Friday.

In response to a query from host Gordon Peterson, Krauthammer channeled his best Bryce Harper and said, "That’s a clown question, bro" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

GORDON PETERSON, HOST: One of my favorite columnists writes this week that Barack Obama's opponent "is a stolid, gaffe-prone challenger for whom conservatism is a second language.” And you write, Charles, that “the less we see of these two gentlemen, the better each of them fares."

CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: That’s a clown question, bro.

[Laughter]

PETERSON: Thank you.

KRAUTHAMMER: You were quoting [Laughs]. There’s a back story there, but too long to explain. Look it up on the internet. It’s on Twitter.

For those not getting the joke, Washington Nationals rookie sensation Bryce Harper responded that way earlier in the week to a typically silly question from a member of the media.

His comment eventually went viral on the internet even sparking the Twitter hashtag #ClownQuestionBro.

You gotta love Krauthammer for not only knowing about it, but beautifully working it into a political discussion on IW.

Bravo, Charles! Bravo!
