Krauthammer: If Rubio Refuses to Be Romney's Veep 'He’ll Find a Horse’s Head in His Bed'

Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer on Friday used a famous "Godfather" movie reference to dramatize what will happen if Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fl.) were to turn down Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's possible request to be his running mate.

Appearing on PBS's Inside Washington, Krauthammer said, "If he says he doesn’t want the office, he’ll find a horse’s head in his bed. The next day he will accept” (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):

When host Gordon Peterson brought up some new polls concerning who Romney should pick as his running mate, he mentioned how “Rubio keeps saying, ‘No thanks.’”

When Krauthammer got his turn to respond, he said, “If Rubio passes the vetting process, assuming he does, I think he’s the obvious choice. And if he says he doesn’t want the office, he’ll find a horse’s head in his bed. The next day he will accept.”

As his fellow panelists laughed, Krauthammer continued, “Romney’s not going to take no for an answer. We have ways we Republicans.”

Yeah, that'll do it.
