Chris Matthews: 'People That Talk About Blood Libel and Bull's Eyes Shouldn't be President'

Chris Matthews on Wednesday said that as a result of her use of terms like "blood libel" and "bull's eyes," Sarah Palin "shouldn't be President of the United States."

Such happened after Matthews spent much of the first half of his "Hardball" program excoriating the former Alaska governor for her videotaped response to the tragic shootings in Tucson Saturday (video follows with transcript and commentary):

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Well, people that talk about blood libel and themselves being victims to it and they talk about bull's eyes shouldn't be President of the United States. And people seriously shouldn't be thinking about it.

This came at the end of a lengthy segment wherein Matthews, along with ultra-liberals Ron Reagan and Media Matters' David Brock, trashed Palin for her comments.

The program began with an even longer segment featuring Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post and NBC's Chuck Todd assisting the "Hardball" host with the Palin bashing.

Readers are once again reminded that Matthews believes his program is "absolutely nonpartisan."
