The cackling coven of ABC’s The View was blasting Republicans on all cylinders on Monday after Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) called out the radical left and progressive district attorneys for treating crime and soft-on-crime policies as a form of equity and unofficial reparations. Amid this pearl-clutching, “Sunny Hostin” (a fake name) whined about outlets like NewsBusters and how she gets called out for being a rabid racist.
Hostin began her comments by quoting her “good friend, Bakari Sellers” (a racist CNN commentator) and suggesting Tuberville was essentially a slave owner:
I mean, my good friend, Bakari Sellers called him out and said that “Tommy Tuberville can go to hell. The fact is he made tens of millions of dollars off of unpaid black labor, men as a football coach. He literally has the stature he has because people went out there and assumed the risk and concurred the risk of concussions, playing hard and everything.” And I think that's one point to point out.
She then griped about how people don’t like to be told they owe money for crimes they didn’t commit to people that didn’t suffer the crime. “And I think when you talk about reparations, it's such a hot-button issue. The minute you start talking about reparations, people call you a racist,” she moaned.
Of course, she demanded people go look up the definition of “racist” as she defines it, which excludes her and only implicates white people. “And I've always said, you know, please, people need to start just looking up what the definition of racism is. It's really a power dynamic. It's not just about the color of your skin,” she proclaimed.
Continuing to rant about “those who committed crimes who owe reparations” as if they’re still around and not dead in the ground for 100 years, she decried Tuberville for trying to “subvert the conversation and bastardize the conversation” of reparations.
Hostin then made it about her and bellyached about being called racist. “I get to experience [it] every single day on social media, thank you very much. I am somehow a race baiter and a racist because I call it like I see it,” she fumed.
You are welcome, Sunny! We call you racist because you are one. Like when you attacked former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley for her skin tone and name, calling her a racial “chameleon.” And when you call black and Latino Republicans oxymorons and suggest they’re race traitors.
Hostin even had the nerve to complain that "it's being used as a political wedge issue now. Everything is racist. Everything is racist, especially if you call it out." And this isn’t the first time she (a former federal prosecutor, a multi-millionaire who brags about taking family vacations to Martha's Vineyard and Sag Harbor, and who has a renowned orthopedic surgeon for a husband) has demanded reparations.
Co-host Sara Haines agreed and made an asinine comment about white people being criminals throughout history and not demanding reparations for themselves. “There's so much ignorance in these statements,” she scoffed without irony. “There are conversations about reparations. Not with this guy. You just left the conversation completely,” she too decried Tuberville.
With extremely vague declarations about “an Issue” and how “the problem remains,” co-host and uber-wealthy Whoopi Goldberg lectured viewers about why reparations were needed. “So, that's what the reparations are about, is recognizing when you've overstepped. Okay? That's what that's about,” she said.

ANA NAVARRO: know what racism looks like, smells like, and sounds like. And this was racism.
And something that really bothered me is, this Senator Tuberville [mispronounces name] – I'll call him Senator Tuber from now on – Used to be a football coach. And so he was coaching young, black men. He was a football coach in college. And think of being coached and what that does to your psyche of having a coach that is obviously a racist.

And I think when you talk about those who committed crimes who owe reparations, those are the people who committed the atrocities of slavery, who stole land, who killed indigenous people. Today, is indigenous people's day. Those reparations are still owed, and so to sort of try to subvert the conversation and bastardize the conversation and call people racist because you call out racism is something that I get to experience every single day on social media, thank you very much. I am somehow a race baiter and a racist because I call it like I see it.
And I think it's being used as a political wedge issue now. Everything is racist. Everything is racist, especially if you call it out.
SARA HAINES: This is full stop racism to so many levels. And they clearly don't understand what reparations are because the people committing those crimes were the white people. So, no one is asking for reparations for them. So, you’ve got to get it all – There's so much ignorance in these statements.
And the sad part is in politics, there are conversations about crime. There are conversations about reparations. Not with this guy. You just left the conversation completely by playing to tropes of other ignorant people that don't know the issues at all.
But it just -- it's hard to watch this because this is so easy. I don't affiliate with a group when you see someone playing out of bounds and below you, you just say, you can still be a Republican. You can still be a conservative and say, oh, hell no. Not to that. That's an easy thing to do, to own character and integrity, and if that's something he calls impolite. Impolite is calling the restroom the pooper. Like, that is not – But this is a whole ‘nother level.
