Bozell Slams Hillary’s Shills in Media: ‘They Are Covering for’ Her

August 12th, 2016 12:09 PM

Media Research Center President Brent Bozell appeared on Fox Business, Friday, to slam compliant journalists for minimizing Hillary Clinton’s scandals while playing up Donald Trump’s controversies. Highlighting how that the father of a terrorist who murdered 49 sat feet from Clinton at a rally, Bozell railed, “It is the circling the wagons around Hillary Clinton where they simply will not report.”

Talking to Stuart Varney, he attacked, “They are covering up for Hillary Clinton.” Bozell explained the disparity of Clinton’s controversy with Trump’s “Second Amendment people” comment:

BRENT BOZELL: In the New York Times, you've got  1287 words. That's a big story on the front page. You've also got an accompanying story next to it continuing the same thing. How many front-page stories on Hillary Clinton? Not one. How many in the New York Times? Not one. In the Washington Post,  a 1400 word front-page story against trump. How many about Hillary Clinton? Not one anywhere. Both newspapers, also, savage editorials too.

Bozell also told Fox viewers how the Trump coverage has changed from months past: “It all happened the moment he won the nomination. Before then, there was been amusement. No more bemusement. They are going after him, as we knew they were going to.”

STUART VARNEY The Media Research Center compared coverage of two recent controversies. The first involved the Orlando terrorist father sitting right behind Hillary Clinton at a rally in Florida. The second was Donald Trump's off-the-cuff comment about the Second Amendment and Hillary Clinton. Now look at the contrasting headlines, both from the New York Times, “Donald Trump suggests Second Amendment people could act against Hillary Clinton.” And then this headline appearing only on the online edition” “Clinton campaign plays down appearance at rally by Orlando gunmen's father.” Look who is here, one of our favorites, Media Research Center's Brent Bozell. You did the study, tell us about it, the two controversies.

BRENT BOZELL: Well, yeah. Put the controversies in perspective first. We’ve got Donald Trump, who did not say Hillary Clinton needs to be assassinated, okay? And then you’ve got the situation where you have the father of the assassin, of the terrorist in Florida, who is himself a supporter of terrorism, a supporter of the Taliban and, vocally anti-American, sitting right behind Hillary Clinton invited by he DNC. So, what’s the coverage? On the networks it’s been a seven to one disparity.

But then, the New York Times, here’s the interesting thing. In the New York Times, you’ve got  1287 words. That’s a big story on the front page. You’ve also got an accompanying story next to it continuing the same thing. How many front-page stories on Hillary Clinton? Not one. How many in the New York Times? Not one. In the Washington Post,  a 1400 word front-page story against trump. How many about Hillary Clinton? Not one anywhere. Both newspapers, also, savage editorials too.

VARNEY: I think this has reached This has reached a new level. Now, you have been doing this for year that is what your organization does, looks  at the media and how they cover various stories. Have you ever seen a media that is so biased against one candidate ever before in a presidential election?

BOZELL: No. You know, it is not so much — well, it that they are biased against Trump. The moment he won the nomination — You know, it all happened the moment he won the nomination. Before then, there was been amusement. No more bemusement. They are going after him, as we knew they were going to. But, you know, even more, it is the circling the wagons around Hillary Clinton where they simply will not report. CNN broke two very big stories yesterday on Hillary Clinton. One did not get a second of media coverage on the networks. The other got 62 seconds. They are covering up for Hillary Clinton.

VARNEY: All right, Brent Bozell. You cover it for us and we appreciate it.
