MRC's Brent Bozell Slams Brian Williams, 'Utter Narcissist' Obama for Launching Into Gun-Control Agenda

Appearing Friday morning on the Fox Business Network's Varney & Co. program, MRC president Brent Bozell blasted disgraced NBC anchor Brian Williams, who now covers breaking news on MSNBC, for immediately injecting a liberal gun control agenda into coverage of the Oregon college shooting on Thursday. "Shocker," he said.

Bozell called it "obnoxious" and "offensive" for the media to push for liberal action without waiting for the facts, and saw a media double standard in the cheers for President Obama's choice to "politicize" the shooting, even as journalists condemned Rep. Kevin McCarthy earlier this week for allegedly politicizing the Benghazi inquiry.

BOZELL: All week long there has been this discussion about Kevin McCarthy and how he politicized Benghazi. Last night within hours of this awful tragedy, the president of the United States politicized this as he politicizes everything. He even said he was politicizing it! So the first question is, where are the media now, talking about politicization of controversy?

Varney asked about Obama's speech shortly after the shooting. "This is a man, he’s an utter narcissist,” he said. There was a story last night about how in just a span of minutes he referred to himself 28 times. It is all about him. It is all about his agenda  It is not – it is not! –  about the victims."

Bozell said the media ought to be questioning Obama about the shooter singling out Christians for murder.
