Mika: 'I'm Going to Get Killed' for Criticizing Hillary for Accusing Sanders of Sexism

UPDATE--Mika Catching Flak I have it on good authority that, as Mika predicted, she is indeed catching serious flak from the left for her criticism of Hillary, with some women senators joining in the condemnation. They are reportedly "horrified that Mika is not blindly falling in line."

---------------------

Joe Scarborough had to prod her into it, but once she got going, Mika Brzezinski unleashed a blistering tirade  against Hillary on today's Morning Joe for accusing Bernie Sanders of sexism.

Hillary has ginned up great feminist umbrage at Sanders' statement at the debate that people need to stop "shouting" about gun violence and do something about it.  A clip was played of Hillary at two stump events saying that when women talk some people think they're shouting. In an extended riff, Mika repeatedly called Hillary's shtick "pathetic," adding that she was "cringing" at the "stupidity" of it. Mika said "I'm going to get killed" for her criticism of Hillary. Wonder who's going to bring the hammer down on Mika?

Mika's concern about getting "killed" for criticizing Hillary reflects a world in which liberal politicians see the MSM as an extension, if not a very part, of their campaigns. Mika and her MSM cohorts are expected to toe the party line. Deviation will not be tolerated.

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Let's turn now to the Democrats and an emerging feud between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders over a comment Sanders made at the first Democratic debate that the Clinton campaign is now painting as sexist. Here's what Sanders said during that first debate after Clinton accused him of not being tough enough on guns.

BERNIE SANDERS: As a senator rom a rural state what I can tell Secretary Clinton, that all the shouting in the world is not going to do what I would hope all of us want. And that is keep guns out of the hands of people who should not have those guns and end this horrible violence that we are seeing.

MIKA: As the New York Times and others have pointed out, the "shouting" phrase is one Sanders had used regularly throughout his campaign even before Clinton released her plan to address gun violence. But Clinton zeroed in on the line on Twitter and in consecutive speeches on Friday and Saturday --

HILLARY CLINTON: I've been told to stop and I quote shouting about gun violence. Well first of all, I'm not shouting. [ Laughter ] It's just when women talk some people think we're shouting.

CLINTON: [at another event] I've been told to stop shouting about ending gun violence. Well, I haven't been shouting but sometimes when a woman speaks out some people think it's shouting. But [pauses for cheering], I won't be silenced and I hope you won't be either. How many more people have to die before we take action?

. . .

JOE SCARBOROUGH: Mika, is that sexist what Bernie Sanders said?

MIKA: No. That was -- don't make me say it, Joe.

JOE: No, say it.

MIKA: No, please don't make me say it, cause then, you know --

JOE: Well let me just say that's pathetic. That's just absolutely pathetic.

MIKA: That was pathetic

JOES That's pathetic.

MIKA: I know that she's the front-runner. I'm sure she's going to win and go for it: I'm glad. I want a Democratic to win. That was like Veep.

JOE: That was straight out of Veep.

MIKA: That was Veep. It was worse than Veep: it wasn't funny. When Veep does it, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, it's hysterical because it's so ridiculous. That wasn't even funny. That was pathetic. I know sexism. Hillary Clinton knows sexism. She should know better than to let her staff make her do that. It needs to be her. She needs to get out there and talk. Everyone stop writing lines for her. They're bad. Really bad. And when we talk about sexism, we talk about women and equal pay and all these things that are important, let's not denigrate it with that stupidity.  Let's not, because we embarrass ourselves. I'm like cringing. You really shouldn't have asked me. I'm going to get killed. But that's okay, because that was pathetic.
