Prediction: Al Hunt will pay no price for calling Donald Trump the "Caityln Jenner of American politics." But can you imagine the outraged reaction on the left if a conservative commentator had said something similar about Hillary for her changing positions on everything from the Iraq war to gay marriage?
Reacting to Hunt's crack on Morning Joe today, Joe Scarborough told Hunt "I think I can get you a job at Fox," an allusion to the tough questioning to which the Fox News panel subjected Trump last night.
AL HUNT: I think that Trump got cut last night. It really -- the substance of the questions, people learn some things. People might not have known beforehand he was pro-choice, now he's pro-life. He was for a wealth tax, now he's for cutting all taxes. He was for a single-payer plan, now he's for ending Obamacare. What they didn't say was four years ago he said Ronald Reagan was a con man, now he's a great presient. This guy is the Caitlyn Jenner of American politics. He really is. I think that's coming through.
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: All of that could have been accomplished without the headline being that Fox went after Trump.
JOE SCARBOROUGH: By the way, Al Hunt, if you're trying to get a contract at Fox News, I know Roger [Ailes] --
MIKA: You just got it. You just got it.
JOE: By the way, I love the moderateors. I do. And I understand what they were trying to do last night. I think I can get you a job at Fox. Willie?
