Obama Brags: 'I've Been More Deeply Involved In Intelligence Than Just About Any President'

President Obama's narcissistic hits just keep on coming. Yesterday, we noted that in his interview with NBC's Chuck Todd, President Obama cast himself as the victim of the ObamaCare mess, complaining that "I've been burned" by the bad website.

In a new clip from the interview, aired during today's Daily Rundown, President Obama bragged "I can guarantee you that I have been more deeply involved in our intelligence operations on a whole set of areas where there real threats against us than just about any President." As with his victim whine, the prez caught himself and amended his remark.  But once again, his true feelings were clear.  View the video after the jump.

One obvious question springs to mind: if President Obama has been so exceptionally involved in intelligence, how could he have permitted Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice and others in his administration to repeatedly propagate the falsehood that a fourth-rate video was to blame for the murder of four Americans in Benghazi? Surely President Deeply Involved knew better.

CHUCK TODD: There is this perception, and some of it is via press reports, some of it's your staff, that you're not always on top of some things or this idea that you didn't know certain things. So for instance, we talked about the website. Did the warnings get to your desk or not? NSA: did you really not know we were tapping Angela Merkel's phone until Edward Snowden leaked it?

BARACK OBAMA: Well look, these are two different issues. First of all, I can guarantee ya that I've been more deeply involved in our intelligence operations on a whole set of areas where there're real threats against us than just about any President. Well, let me put it this way. As much as any President.

Will the MSM make anything of President Obama's astonishing brag?

Note:  The President's steely expression suggests he was unamused by Todd's impertinence.  My read is that—so stung by Todd's suggestion that he is not on top of things—President Obama couldn't contain himself, and blurted out his brag.

Note Deux:  When you think about it, President Obama's attempt to reel in his brag only made matters worse.  His amendment was "let me put it this way. As much as any President."  Really? So from  Washington, to Lincoln, to FDR, Truman, JFK and Reagan, none of them was more involved in intelligence than President Obama? Does anyone believe this?
