This could go down as the strangest simile of the election season . . .
Introducing this evening's Hardball, Chris Matthews likened the electoral plight of Democrats to the Battle of the Alamo, "as seen from inside the mission." In other words, Matthews casts the Dems as the Americans, fighting a hopeless battle against the Mexicans, in which role Chris casts . . . the Republicans!
