Panicky Joy Behar Warns: GOP Is 'Trying to Hurt Us!'

Last Friday, former First Lady Michelle Obama blasted Trump and Republicans for trying to roll back her healthy school lunch program, accusing them of not caring about kids. “What is wrong with you?” Obama provocatively asked her left-leaning audience. Well Joy Behar on Monday’s The View had the same question to ask Republicans, adding in a little Ronald Reagan bashing and Michael Moore praising to make her rants extra nauseating and eye roll-worthy.

The segment began with Whoopi asking the panel what they thought about Michelle Obama’s lunch program and the critics’ concerns with it. Behar used that question as a launch pad to attack Republicans for everything from guns to the environment:

WHOOPI: What good is it if the kids are not eating it?

BEHAR:  She asks the question, what is wrong with you, and why is this a partisan issue? What is wrong with them that they give guns to the mentally ill? What is wrong with them that they allow toxins to be dumped in rivers? I mean we are dealing with people who are trying to hurt us right now. And this is part of the picture.

Host Jedediah Bila pushed back, arguing that schools and parents at the local level should be involved in these programs, not the federal government. Behar then peculiarly brought up Ronald Reagan, accusing him of not being able to work with the government but praising Obama for allegedly being able to:

BEHAR: Ronald Reagan said, very famously. Government is the problem. Well, government maybe under him was the problem. It wasn't the problem under Obama. It's the problem --

BILA: [laughs] It wasn't?

BEHAR: No.

BILA: This [lunch program] came out of that administration.

WHOOPI: The lunch program may not have worked well, but there was nothing before it, and that's the issue.

BILA: That's right.

BEHAR: And there was no health care---there was no health care before him!

BILA: But the argument is-- People who feel the government -- they mean the government doesn't always do it better.

BEHAR: Sometimes it does though!

After more back-and-forth between the liberal panel and Bila, a frustrated Behar went into a “Europe is better than America” rant. Touting activist filmmaker Michael Moore’s latest propaganda film, Behar absurdly argued that said school cafeterias need to be more like the French, with kitchen staff “waiting” on kids with fancy food.

You keep attacking government involvement. Every civilized country in the world has single-payer health care. They have food. If you see Michael Moore's latest movie, "The French," they are serve these kids pate at lunch. They have delicious, healthy foods. The kids have table cloths and they treat them like---and they are served. The people who work there are like waiters. I don’t understand why government can’t just do what the French and the Italian and the Spanish and the German do!

Behar then threw in one last dig at “Trump voters” as “resentful” of poor children “getting anything for free”:

Can I have a second? I just want to say, there is a certain segment of the society that's resentful of any poor child getting anything for free. Those people need to look in the mirror. There are certain people in this country they know who they are, a lot of them voted for Trump and there’s a resentment involved here.
