Hard to Watch: 'Lizard Face' Ted Cruz Gets Ode from Pop Star on Samantha Bee

May 9th, 2016 10:50 PM

TBS’ Full Frontal with Samantha Bee was chock-full of it’s signature cringeworthy ‘political humor’ May 9. It began with the feminist host slamming Cruz for his abortion stance before letting singer Michelle Branch takeover in a mocking parody of the former presidential candidate.

Bee introduced the song by slamming Kasich and Cruz as “two gentlemen who think a 13-year-old's rape baby is a gift from Jesus” before asking 2000’s pop star Michelle Branch to sing a “farewell” to Cruz’s campaign.

The song went like this:

MICHELLE BRANCH:

You’re so easy to despise

And it seems we can't do the show without you

Elbowed your wife

And  your dad killed JFK

Zodiac Killer at night

I know I’m right

Oh, good-bye to you

Won't miss your lizard face on the news

You were the one we loathed

Can’t pay no one train to hold on to

I want to ignore you and punch you at the same time

You think the bathroom use should be a crime

Let me hear you say it one last time

-- “Why am I persecuted?”

Good-bye Ted Cruz you covered everything with your ooze

You were the one we loathed

The campaign no one tried to hold on to

Good-bye Ted Cruz

Good-bye you creepy soup hoarding goat

You're Heidi's problem now

The campaign no one tries to hold on to

The campaign no one tries to hold on to

The campaign no one tried to hold onto

After the darkness always comes the dawn also Kasich's gone
