Hypocritical Morning Joe Denounces Trump Cabinet Meeting

June 13th, 2017 11:13 AM

Tuesday’s Morning Joe almost immediately began with a complete freak-out over the Trump administration’s cabinet meeting on Monday. Over the course of the meeting, cabinet members took time to thank and praise the President for his leadership and vision. “That is just sick,” co-host Mika Brzezinski declared in a disgusted tone. Lover and fellow co-host Joe Scarborough eagerly followed the lead of his fiancé, exclaiming, “That is the most sick, shameful, pathetic, un-American, autocratic display.” The duo then proceeded to decry the perceived brown nosing while seemingly forgetting entirely their own instances of blatant sycophancy.

The conversation between the two hosts went as follows:

JOE SCARBOROUGH: We decided this weekend that we thought we had been a little too rough and a little too snarky.

BRZEZINSKI: Not too rough, but a little personal.

SCARBOROUGH: But it got too personal and we needed to report more news and offer less harsh biting criticism. And with that in mind and with that as a backdrop.

BRZEZINSKI: That is sick. That is just sick. That was sick in so many ways!

SCARBOROUGH: That is the most sick, shameful, pathetic, un-american, autocratic display.

BRZEZINSKI: I'll channel my father. Sick in the head.

SCARBOROUGH: I will tell you if I were ever in a meeting and people did that to me, I would say shut up or I'm going to fire you.

BRZEZINSKI: And you all can leave. Actually, you all are dismissed.

SCARBOROUGH: I actually had a guy, you guys don't know this, but I was in congress one time. I had a guy who worked for me for six years, and everybody went ahead of him but this one guy. He just stayed and he went up here like this, like this, like this. He came in finally a six years and he said 'What's up? Why is everybody zoomed ahead of me?' I said because whenever I call you in here, all I get is yeses. All you do is tell me how great I am. Have you not understood these other people come in and they knock my head off.

BRZEZINSKI: Bring value to the table.

SCARBOROUGH: And they tell me where I'm screwing up and where I'm messing up and how it can get better. All you do is suck up. And so then, of course, he did a really lousy attempt at being tough. But that's just--I mean, Steve, you can't run an organization like that!

STEVE RATTNER: You can't run an organization that way.

Surprisingly, the Morning Joe couple have previously been guilty of the same sins they now lambaste others for. Brzezinski, in particular, is a repeat offender. In April, she interviewed former Obama senior adviser Valerie Jarrett, during which she effusively fawned over her and the Obamas. Even more memorable was her phone interview with Hillary Clinton in 2016, where Brzezinski openly stated that she would vote for Clinton were she to secure the Democratic nomination.
