Open Thread
A special open thread today. We're helping Soldiers' Angels raise money for their Project Valour-IT campaign, which raises money for research and development of technology that supports wounded warriors in their recovery. NB has chosen to support the Marines. Your generosity is greatly appreciated (link below fold).

Let's all hope (and pray) that last night's election results signal the death knell for this communist insanity.

November 4, 2009 - 12:27 ET by UnsaneAs a reminder, today is the 30th anniversary of the day where Iran decided to take a whiz on the Vienna Convention and otherwise use basic international protocol as toilet paper.
Yep, this was the day when the embassy was seized in Tehran. I am stunned that His Majesty The Shahinshah hasn't granted full diplomatic recognition to Iran yet today.

9 November
November 4, 2009 - 12:49 ET by UnsaneThe ninth of November is the 20th anniversary of the fall of die Mauer. Bundeskanzler Angela Merkel invited His Majesty The Shahinshah to attend the commemoration of this anniversary of the arrival of freedom and democracy in East Germany at long last.
His Majesty The Shahinhshah's response? "I'm too busy."
How utterly embarrassing.

Uns, Obama's refusal to attend this event...
November 4, 2009 - 20:02 ET by R D Helm...speaks volumes about his commitment to the concepts of freedom and liberty.
But as he said, he's too busy to bother. After all, working to reinstate a deposed communist dictator is time-consuming work.
Even if he did go, it wouldn't surprise me if he apologized to the Germans and Russians for Ronald Reagan having damaged their wall.
-And I'm only half kidding.

November 4, 2009 - 20:08 ET by Cool ArrowA caller on Rush today suggested that since Obama was denied the opportunity to speak at the Brandenburg Gate, for lack of having yet accomplished anything of note, perhaps he was once again refused for the same reason.
This is the explanation I find most plausible, rather than Obama blowing off an opportunity to look regal.

Cool... I heard that gal
November 4, 2009 - 20:23 ET by bigtimerCool...
I heard that gal as well that called in...the call was priceless...especially Rush's slow, thoughtful response to her.
The whole thing was really delicious all in and all...and she's right on the money.
Btw...he should have offered her a Sleep-Member Bed or something.

Is "V" a swipe at Obama?
November 4, 2009 - 15:09 ET by alwaysconDid anyone watch the debut of "V" last night? If not, I highly recommend you do. Much like "24" showed America that we must be tough on terrorism and do what ever it takes, "V" is about an alien presence visiting Earth, promising hope and change, offering universal healthcare and cures to diseases.
The visitors are all well spoken and attractive, but their ultimate goal is to take over and uproot society. Sound familiar?
It all points to the Obama agenda, even hinting at miracle stem cell treatments.
The main characters are a female antiterrorist FBI agent and a Catholic priest - finally moral characters we can get behind. They band together to form a resistance to the visitors.
It's worth watching, and it seems that there are some writers and producers in Hollywood that want to make a stand and a statement and are managing to do so under the noses of the mainstream media.
It's worth watching.
Communist News Network 4th in viewers on election night
November 4, 2009 - 19:56 ET by R D HelmFOXNEWS: 4,043,000
MSNBC: 974,000
HLN: 842,000
CNN: 826,000

Reanalyzing those figures
November 4, 2009 - 20:14 ET by CO2MakerThe last three averaged approximately 900,000 viewers each. Let's take that as a "unit" called a "cable-viewer-night." Then the analysis would be that Fox came in 1st through 4th place, followed in order by MsNBC, H1LN1, and CNN.
~IRANIAN PROTESTERS ISSUE CHALLENGE TO OBAMA
November 4, 2009 - 21:46 ET by choselife3xThis video is absolutely stunning.
They are chanting...
“Obama, Obama, Ya ba una,
Ya ba ma!” ------ “Obama, you are either with them [the Iranian
government] or with us [the people].
Geez, made a typo!
In order to be pro-choice, one must first be born. Ah, the irony.
