Charleston
July 4, 2009 - 12:33 ET by jdlybrandI just got home from the Charleston Tea Party. Good speakers. Good people. I only saw one news outlet but could not identify them. It was interesting to hear from one of the speakers that we should smile for the cameras because homeland security was in attendance. I don't doubt it. I'm guessing there were one to two thousand in attendance. The best sign I saw was "Hey Barack, quit blaming Bush. Man up and take responsibility". And last but not least... Jim Demint was very eloquent.
I went to my local
July 4, 2009 - 14:09 ET by RD Kingtea party here in Deland where the theme was the Constitution is the Solution. Heard from some good speakers where we celebrated living in the greatest nation on earth and everyone agreed that it is we the people who need to move and act to take back the country and it doesn't matter about party period. It's time to replace any and all who think party and pork first with someone who thinks God and nation first. The bottom line is that for any of this to work obama must go!!!!!! and even though that was never stated it is most certainly understood.
Morristown, NJ
July 4, 2009 - 14:18 ET by Free StinkerThe Morristown Tea Party was well attended. At least as many people came as on April 15th when they drew a crowd estimated at 3,000 people.
Headline speaker was Charles M. Payne (Foxnews contributor)

July 4, 2009 - 15:38 ET by DeskpilotMother nature provided an absolutely SPECTACULAR day to celebrate the Declaration of Independence and the rights granted thereunder, codified in the Constitution, also written here.
Despite a minor hiccup in the timing of various speakers, a well behaved, respectful, but nonetheless anti-big government rally. \More signs than flags, but a great turn out for a city so steeped in liberal Democrats and unions. Speakers were quite motivating, but the key message was to PAY ATTENTION and GET INVOLVED. It's one thing to attend a T.E.A. Party, it's hard work paying close attention to all of the maneuvering of the administration.
Constant contact with your elected representatives is CRITICAL! it will serve to keep them on their toes if their value their current means of employment..
Met many folks who share my concern for our great country and can see right through the car$$ in the media.
If we all get home from these T.E.A. parties and spread the word among friends and family and engage them in the arena of ideas, we will build our strength.

However, their disdain will not deter me...and I hope enough other Massachusetts residents are letting it be known that they have had ENOUGH! I believe TK is determined to completely DESTROY our country before he departs. I can't think of another member of Congress who has been more detrimental to our country's good health.
I pray God will keep Americans strong to get us through these trying times.

TEA Parties
July 4, 2009 - 20:04 ET by BondPlainBondVery little was said in the MSM about the July 4th Tea Parties. Not even Fox News banged the drum this time.
Given that the President was "completely unaware" of hundreds of
thousands of people gathering in protest around the country last April
15th, what will happen this July 4th?
Will the Dear Leader use being at Camp David to celebrate his
daughter's birthday with twenty of her friends (are WE footing that
birthday party bill? I want to see the receipt, please, Mr President),
as yet another excuse not to address the hundreds of thousands of
citizens that disagree with The Dear Leader's plans and priorities and insane wasteful
spending that has been historically proven to be a failure right out of
the box?
It was only hundreds of thousands of people that couldn't pay their
mortgages that broke this whole Democrat-controlled shell game of lies,
deceit, trickery, and back-door payments to political Democrats open.
Pay attention this time, Chairman O. Address those that disagree
with you - FOR ONCE. Civilly and without the usual smarmy and
dismissive commentary. Futher "I didn't know's" from you will confirm
the partisan game you're playing with our money.

July 5, 2009 - 00:16 ET by bigtimerBPB...
I was really past disappointed with Fox and their non-coverage today...in fact I was really stunned to be frank.
Here is something that was played at the Dallas Tea Party by the old Monkee group...to the tune of Mrs. Robinson...listen to the words, they sing/say it all, well worth your time...this group has some other winners...like 'Coming to America'...which may offend some here with language that you can find on the playlist.
Nevertheless...I got to catch the end of the TP at the South Fork Ranch live stream ...enjoyed that a lot...music...fireworks and all.

I attended the TEA Party ...
July 5, 2009 - 00:00 ET by SentryDanI attended the TEA Party in Montgomery, AL. We too had good speakers. The organizers had tables set up were the attendees could sign petitions. The had 2; one in support of the Second Amendment and the other to our US Senators against the "Cap and Trade" bill.
I had at least a dozen people thank me for my military service. Most of those people were younger(mid to late 20s). The other thing that was not at all surprising were the number of blacks in attendance. I don't believe there were more than a dozen. One of the speakers was a black man, a local radio talk show host.
The blacks in this country are going to learn a hard lesson in the next 10 months. They will be betrayed by the very person they voted for, Obama. Then maybe they will understand.
Remember folks, Freedom isn't Free. It was bought with the blood and sacrifice of the men and women who are serving and who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
For those who fought for it, Freedom has a flavor that the protected will never know.
Also remember folks, that the way to SUPPORT THE TROOPS is to support their mission. Anyone who says that they support the troops but don't support their mission is lying about supporting the troops. And if you want to know, yes I do have a dog in the fight, he is a United States Marine.
tea parties
July 5, 2009 - 06:21 ET by sudmufI had to work tonight and last night so I wasn't able to make it to the TEA Party here in Dallas. I have attended a couple of them in the past. Right now it's 2:30 AM CDT. I have been listening to the local CBS affiliate on the radio. CBS news has been giving reports of various 4th of July celebrations around the country on their hourly newscast. Conspicously absent from the reporting are accounts of any of the tea parties or the numbers of people attending them.... BTW The local station makes no mention of it in their newscast segment either.
Smaller than the one in April, however there were two locations.
July 5, 2009 - 10:45 ET by upcountrywaterI went the one in Kihei, about 75 people. Later I went to a fireworks party and met some business friends, who had no idea about the tea party, these guys pay big taxes. Igorance is bliss here in paradise.
Oh yea a new cigerette tax kicked in here $9.00 a pack out a vending machine. Maybe I'll start smoking now.

July 5, 2009 - 13:19 ET by Cape Conservativegreat time...loved all the little gals with the flags here and there ;-)
You have reinforced my belief that we MUST begin at the LOCAL level to change things...trying to start at the top is putting us at a disadvantage...rather like being behind with a 'full count' in baseball. My husband and I are working locally to support and elect candidates with strong conservative values (Yes, even here in Massachusetts, we have a few ;-) and we are doing well locally. Trying to get the two long-standing senators replaced seems to be a different matter. Wouldn't it be wonderful if these national tea parties brought forth ordinary citizens who would be willing to run against the set-in-concrete incumbents. Our election process is so tainted, I fear that would never be allowed to happen.
How I wish Mitt Romney had run against Kerry in 2006 instead of trying for president. While well qualified, probably the best qualified of all the candidates, common sense would have allowed him to acknowledge that the rest of America considers a "Massachusetts connection" unworthy of serious consideration. He could have been so effective in the Senate and perhaps our country wouldn't have been sent into such a downward spiral. Oh well...that was then and this is now.
I believe the Republican Party will come alive again - even in Massachusetts. Until then, politicians from this state will always be considered 'laughingstock material' by the actions and statements of Patrick, Kerry, Kennedy, Markey or Frank!
And if there is anyone out there who believes in national healthcare...please know that, yes, Massachusetts tried it but it has FAILED bigtime! It has been a financial drain since the day it began! As California and Massachusetts have proven to the nation, liberal budget policies do NOT work!
Let's keep the T.E.A. PARTIES going until finally one day, they can't be ignored any longer!!!

July 5, 2009 - 12:32 ET by Kat Outta the BagAlthough I didn't attend, the one near me in Viera, FL reportedly had about 3,000 people. That, in spite of the fact that the many signs that were put up in the days before the event were either stolen or vandalized, apparently by anti-free speech types.
The Baton Rouge Tea Party
July 5, 2009 - 14:29 ET by general companyWas a great success, the speakers were very good, we were close enough to the City celebrations to be able to see the fly over's from the Military and in walking distance to the evening festivities on the Levee. It was blistering HOT, so the turnout was not what we had in April. But there were many young folks there and it is very obvious to me that folks are paying attention.

Bigtimer, Dallas Tea Party at Southfork Ranch huge success
July 5, 2009 - 14:12 ET by jefflebowskiPreliminary attendance is between 25,000 and 35,000. Most came after the Texas heat cooled down to hear Michelle Malkin, Capt. Scott O'Grady, Wayne Allyn Root, Michael Johns, Michael Cutler and many more speak. Musical entertainment was The Monkees featuring Mickey Dolenz and 6 other amazing acts! Big fireworks show at the end and thousands signing the Declaration of Indepedence from tyranny!
Over 500 web pages hosted streaming video of the event. We brought out thousands who had never attended a tea party but are now ready to join our Neighborhood Coordinators group to get people off their couches and into the political process!
Thanks NB for streaming America's Tea Party at Southfork Ranch in Dallas!
