New Survey: 3 Out of 10 'Worst Jobs' Are In Journalism

April 17th, 2015 2:39 PM

A new survey by CareerCast.com shows that three journalistic professions fall inside the top ten "worst" jobs to have, reports Fortune.com

The jobs were ranked based on the following attributes, with much of the data coming from the Bureau of Labor Statistics: "income, outlook, environmental factors, stress and physical demands."

Even so, one has to wonder about the methodology, given the physically taxing and emotionally-draining professions which also make the top ten like enlisted military, firefighters, and lumberjacks:

1. Newspaper reporter
2. Lumberjack
3. Enlisted military personnel
4. Cook
5. Broadcaster
6. Photojournalist
7. Corrections officer
8. Taxi driver
9. Firefighter
10. Mail carrier

Of course, mail carriers, cooks, and lumberjacks are not putzing around rural Iowa chasing phantom "Scooby-Doo" vans and wondering just how they got to this point in their lives.
