Fitting! Lib Chelsea Handler to Lead Sundance Anti-Trump Protest

Chelsea host Chelsea Handler is making good on her tearful, post-election promise to use to her “voice.” On January 21, she’ll be leading the Sundance Film Festival’s “Women’s March on Main” to protest President-elect Trump’s inauguration.

“Sundance has always been a platform for change: not only for filmmakers and filmmaking, but also for big ideas for the future,” Handler declared in a statement. “If there’s anything I learned in the last year, it’s that we need to be louder and stronger than ever about what we believe in, so I joined some incredible women from around the country to bring our voices together in the streets of Park City.”

Although the largest women’s march will occur in the nation’s capital, a number of smaller protests are planned in various cities across the country. “The Women’s March on Main will be an opportunity for the creative community and those in Utah to stand beside those in D.C.,” Handler explained. And since Sundance attracts progressive celebrities, there's really no better place for a protest.

Handler has long opposed Donald Trump. Recently, she accused his white female supporters of giving in to that “great female penchant for self-mutilation.” Although the Chelsea host claimed she would move to Spain if Trump won the election, she reneged on November 10. “I really, really want to move to Spain right now. But everyone in my office is like, ‘You have a responsibility, you have a voice. You have to use it. You have to be here,’” she explained.
