As usual, Sunday night’s debate saw a tidal wave of celebrity tweets vilifying Trump and praising Hillary.

Some even got violent. After calling Trump a “fucking brat,” “big dummy” and “muthafucka,” actress and comedian Leslie Jones tweeted: “Ok I’m like Robert Deniro right now I want to punch that mf in the face!!” As the much-discussed target of hateful tweets earlier this summer, one would think Jones would be more civil with her social media.

But civility was not displayed between the candidates on the big screen or the mobile screens of the celeb Twittersphere. Stars lambasted Donald Trump on everything from his recent sexual harassment scandal to his sniffling.

Liberal director Michael Moore believed he was reining in his language by calling Trump a “sick fuck.” “I could use stronger language but won’t,” he continued his tweet.

Writer Stephen King added: “Trump looks like a big ole sulky baby. Do we need a big ole sulky baby as President?”

Actress Olivia Wilde tweeted similar sentiments. “If nothing else, this shit-show should put to rest the idiotic idea that these two are in any way equally problematic. HE IS A FOOL.”

Jill Twiss, screenwriter for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, attacked Trump for his recurrent nasal issues, inserting a jab for good measure. “Is it possible to be allergic to the truth because that would explain sniffles #Debates2016.”

Actress Jessica Chastain expressed great disgust, tweeting: “I actually feel sick listening to him speak. The way I used to feel when a kid was having a tantrum when babysitting #debate.”

Shonda Rhimes, director of hit liberal shows Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder, directly attacked Trump supporters with a comment reminiscent of the ”deplorables.” “What disturbs me is that none of this matters. He’s preaching to his racist xenophobic misogynistic choir. They LIKE him. #Debates2016,” she tweeted.

Rhimes also gushed about ABC News correspondent and moderator Martha Raddatz, saying: “I deeply worship the badassery of @MarthaRaddatz.”

It’s no surprise that these celebs also worship Hillary Clinton and were rooting for her victory.

“Hillary is waiting...waiting...waiting...” Moore tweeted. “Soon we'll have this debate's Miss Universe moment. Go in for the kill...tick...tock...tick...tock.”

The clock certainly continues to tick toward the election. Based on the unpredictability of the season so far, who knows what the next few weeks hold in store.
