Hollywood Reporter Names Reliable Lefty Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Contributing Editor for his ‘Unique Perspective’

In the wake of the November election, you’d think at least some media outlets would recognize the need to consider the natives of the country’s middle sections. The strange tribes that dwell far from the coasts made it known that they have a very different perspective, what with their sky god and their sex-segregated bathrooms and ancient views on things like marriage. It might behoove media types to explore that mysterious terrain and, you know, maybe try to pick up a few customers there.

Not The Hollywood Reporter, which seems to have decided to double down on its liberal insularity, naming former NBA player and current BLM cheerleader Kareem Abdul-Jabbar contributing editor. THR’s announcement article quoted Editorial Director Matthew Belloni saying, “With decades of experience in the media spotlight and a keen eye on the pop culture landscape, Kareem will bring a unique perspective to The Hollywood Reporter’s readers on critical issues like race, gender and the role of media in society.”

Unique? Seriously, you can’t swing a dead Chihuahua in L.A. without hitting a celeb who shares Abdul-Jabbar’s exact left-wing orthodoxy. He’s a redistributionist race baiter who was writing articles about what it meant to be black during a Trump administration before there ever was a Trump administration. He’s a darling of Time Magazine, The Washington Post and NPR. In short, Abdul-Jabbar is a vessel of conventional lefty wisdom – albeit an extremely tall one.

For his part, Abdul-Jabbar said, “I’m excited to join The Hollywood Reporter because it allows me to continue to write about the intersection of politics and pop culture, which is where our values and beliefs are forged.” Like his belief that Colin Kaepernick, the has-been 49ers QB who won’t stand for the National Anthem, “behaved in a highly patriotic manner that should make all Americans proud.” Or that President Trump’s temporary refugee ban is like a “bad horror movie.

Wow, some “unique” takes.
