Hollywood Rebel: Hilary Duff Buys a Gun and Ammo

One pop star just made a bold move in liberal Hollywood – by exercising her 2nd Amendment rights.

TMZ reported that 28-year-old Lizzie McGuire star Hilary Duff exited a Culver City, California gun store last weekend carrying a newly purchased Glock case and ammo.

“We've confirmed she picked up a firearm,” TMZ staff wrote, “but only after getting her handgun safety certificate.”

Duff’s move stands in stark contrast with Hollywood’s disgust of guns – except for when it glamorizes gun violence in movies, that is

Just look at director Quentin Tarantino who has spoken on gun control or actor Liam Neeson, who has insisted, “There’s too many [expletive] guns out there. Especially in America.”

Duff does have an ally in actor Vince Vaughn who told the British edition of GQ in a summer interview:

“We don't have the right to bear arms because of burglars; we have the right to bear arms to resist the supreme power of a corrupt and abusive government. It's not about duck hunting; it's about the ability of the individual. It's the same reason we have freedom of speech. It's well known that the greatest defence against an intruder is the sound of a gun hammer being pulled back.”
