Donald Trump Slams MLB for not Reinstating Pete Rose

December 15th, 2015 7:19 PM

Donald Trump is Yuuugely disappointed (I’ll show myself out) at MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred for declining to reinstate Pete Rose. How do we know this? Because he tweeted about it, of course.

Trump said:

From The Hill:

“MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred announced in a report earlier in the day that he had rejected Rose's request for reinstatement and would uphold a lifetime ban imposed in 1989.

"In short, Mr. Rose has not presented credible evidence of a reconfigured life either by an honest acceptance by him of his wrongdoing ... or by a rigorous, self-aware and sustained program of avoidance by him of all the circumstances that led to his permanent ineligibility in 1989," Manfred wrote.

In short, Rob Manfred is not convinced that Pete Rose has changed, much less “paid the price” that Trump alluded to in his tweet. Apparently living in Las Vegas and continuing to bet on baseball while petitioning a sports league to forgive you for gambling is not a good thing.

Who knew?
