Liberals are the source of nearly all of our angst when it comes to cultural erosion and social justice scare-mongering. However, they can sometimes be the best source of SJW (Social Justice Warrior) joking/mocking as well.
On Sunday night Family Guy brought something to a scene that is very infrequently brought to the transgender discussion: humor. Sit back, enjoy, and marvel at jokes that a conservative show would never in a million years be allowed to make, when Peter and Louis find Quagmire and his transgender dad at their favorite restaurant:
**WARNING: INNAPROPRIATE LANGUAGE**
Quagmire: Hey Peter
Lois: Oh look, there’s Quagmire and his transgendered mother. Which is now great.
Peter: Hey Quagmire. Hey Ida. I didn’t know you liked Smitty’s.
Ida: Oh yeah, I’ve been coming here for ages. They even named a sandwich after me. It’s an inside-out hot dog slathered with ketchup.
Quagmire: Please, please join us.
Lois: Oh, we wouldn’t want to interrupt your brave dinner.
Ida: Nonsense, we’re happy to have you.
Peter: Alright, we already ate dinner though, so maybe just an iceberg wedge, a steak and some sides.
A conservative show would have been picketed and canceled by the end of the week for taking a shot like that at America’s trendy new victim class. But alas, there’s clearly a different set of rules for libs like Family Guy’s Seth MacFarlane.
I guess we’ll have to just live vicariously through his cultural and partisan self-deprecation until political correctness is done away with and people on both sides of the aisle are able to mock gays and transgenders - and everyone else - with impunity.
Might be waiting a while on that.
