Juan Williams Gets in 'Hot Debate' Over 'Muhammad Cartoon Contest'
May 8, 2015, 5:09 PM EDT

During Thursday evening's edition of Hannity on the Fox News Channel, political analyst Juan Williams clashed with Pamela Geller regarding the “Muhammad Cartoon Contest” she organized in Garland, Texas, this past weekend. Two Islamic militants tried to attack the event but were shot and killed before they could disrupt it.

At one point in what the Fox News website called a “Hot Debate,” the liberal commentator compared Geller to “a pyromaniac who goes before the judge and says: 'Oh, yes, we're setting those fires just to see how fast the fire department can respond.'”

Chuck Todd 'Impressed' Hillary Clinton 'Ate Up News Cycle' With Immigration Speech
May 7, 2015, 5:27 PM EDT

During Thursday's edition of MSNBC's Morning Joe program, Meet the Press host Chuck Todd responded to a question about Hillary Clinton -- the presumptive Democrat candidate for president in the upcoming 2016 election -- by stating: “The one thing I was impressed with this week was she did eat up a news cycle with immigration.”

The host of NBC's Sunday morning news and interview program asserted that when Clinton testifies before the Republicans in the House of Representatives, “it doesn't have a large impact. It becomes more guppies than piranhas.”

'Daily Show' Reporter Jessica Williams Mocks 'Adorable Bigots' Against Gay Marriage
May 5, 2015, 5:31 PM EDT

In an effort to shame protesters who believe true marriage is between one man and one woman, Jessica Williams of Comedy Central's The Daily Show mingled with people she believes are on the “Wrong Side of History” while pretending to be crying since this might be her last chance to say goodbye to the “Hate Class of 2015.”

The segment was introduced by outgoing host Jon Stewart.

'Progressive Men's Magazine' Adds HIV-Positive Blood to Ink on Cover
May 4, 2015, 6:02 PM EDT

A Vienna-based magazine that calls itself Vangardist -- and a “progressive men’s magazine” -- is seeking to renew interest in the rise of HIV and AIDS around the world this week by printing a select number of magazine covers using ink infused with HIV-infected blood.

The 3,000 copies of the publication's special edition also features stories of "HIV heroes" at a time when the editors say too many people have grown complacent about the disease.

MSNBC's Al Sharpton Calls for DOJ to Take Over Police Across America
May 1, 2015, 5:44 PM EDT

Just when you think you've heard it all from the Rev. Al Sharpton, who combines his liberal activism with hosting the weekday PoliticsNation program afternoons on the MSNBC cable channel, he comes up with another absurd demand that leaves people of all races shaking their heads in disbelief.

His latest outrageous comment came on Thursday, when Sharpton met with Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Baltimore's Democratic mayor, and other local officials to address the issues behind the riots and looting that took place after 25-year-old Freddie Gray died while in police custody for allegedly possessing a switchblade on April 12.

Comedy Central's Larry Wilmore Slams CNN, Fox News Baltimore Coverage
April 29, 2015, 6:28 PM EDT

During Tuesday's edition of The Nightly Show on the Comedy Central cable channel, host Larry Wilmore used a combination of bad comedy and vulgarity to criticize how the Cable News Network and the Fox News Channel covered the riots and chaos in Baltimore the night before.

With the phrase “What a Riot” over a picture of a burning car, the black liberal began the segment by stating: “We're talking about the devastating events in Baltimore” before playing a clip of a CNN reporter noting that Maryland governor Larry Hogan had declared a state of emergency, and school was canceled after the riots on Monday night.

Clash at Papal Summit Over Climate Change Shows Debate Turning 'Nasty'
April 28, 2015, 5:57 PM EDT

During a press conference in Vatican City on Tuesday, people described as “papal heavies” interrupted “an awkward question” being asked by Marc Morano -- publisher of the skeptical Climate Depot website -- who wanted to know what Ban Ki-Moon, secretary-general of the United Nations, thinks about climate change deniers.

According to an article written by James Dellingpole for the Breitbart.com site, Morano was asking the U.N. official if he had a message for the delegation of scientists who had flown to Rome to urge Pope Francis to “reconsider his ill-advised position climate change” as part of an exchange that has recently been described as “nasty” and “almost like denying gravity.”

Ed Schultz Slams Obama on TPP: 'You're Wrong' About 'Phony Trade Deal'
April 24, 2015, 3:54 PM EDT

A common occurrence on MSNBC's The Ed Show is the liberal host venting all the bluster he can muster against someone who disagrees with him. However, on Thursday's edition of the afternoon program, Ed Schultz didn't try to hammer conservative Republicans, his usual targets. Instead, his vitriol was aimed at Barack Obama.

While interviewing Bernie Sanders, a far-left senator from Vermont, Schultz abruptly cut away to a video of the president criticizing the liberal network.

Stewart Tells Perino Co-host Eric Bolling Is 'Dumb Guy' on 'The Five'
April 23, 2015, 7:24 PM EDT

While promoting her new book, And the Good News Is … , Dana Perino was a guest on Wednesday evening's edition of The Daily Show, when liberal host Jon Stewart called Eric Bolling -- one of her co-hosts on The Five -- “the dumb guy” on the Fox News Channel's popular program.

After welcoming his guest to "The Two" -- which he stated was a play on The Five -- Stewart admitted that he and his staff are “obsessed” with the afternoon news show “a little bit” and “in a good way.”

The Comedy Central host then discussed the appearance of Perino and her dog Jasper on the cover of Life and Dog magazine.

Barnicle: GOP 'So Angry' Due to Relying on Party's 'Mentally Ill Wing'
April 6, 2015, 5:53 PM EDT

Mike Barnicle, a frequent liberal guest on MSNBC's Morning Joe weekday program, hammered Republicans on Sunday in a posting at the Daily Beast website entitled “Why Is the GOP So Angry at Everything These Days?” His answer: Republicans “are furious at the world. Their solution: Declare war on it.”

Barnicle's article started out innocently enough, with the writer noting that during the past week, “many paused to reflect during Passover and Easter ceremonies.”

It went all downhill from there.

Santorum: ISIS Quoted Me More Accurately Than the New York Times
April 2, 2015, 3:49 PM EDT

Rick Santorum, a former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania who is known for his conservative stance on several social issues, became a target in a glossy, full-color publication produced by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria under the heading: “In the Words of the Enemy.”

During an appearance on the Fox & Friends early morning news show on Wednesday, Santorum found a silver lining in the grim situation: "Well, the difference is ISIS actually quoted me accurately, as opposed to the New York Times, which is a remarkable comment on the state of the media today.”

‘Killing Jesus’ Film Breaks Cable Channel's Ratings Record With 3.7 Million Viewers
March 31, 2015, 7:10 PM EDT

Sunday night's airing of Killing Jesus -- the three-hour event based on the book of the same name by Fox News Channel anchor Bill O'Reilly and co-writer Martin Dugard -- was watched by more than 3.7 million people, a new record for the National Geographic Channel.

Of course, this isn't the first cable television adaptation of one of O'Reilly's books. Two others -- Killing Kennedy and Killing Lincoln – were also produced for the cable channel and drew high ratings as well.

'Gay Money Is No Good in Indiana,' Liberal Blogger Claims
March 28, 2015, 1:29 PM EDT

A contentious battle between supporters of religious freedom and people in favor of gay rights in Indiana reached a turning point on Thursday, when Governor Mike Pence signed Senate Bill 101 -- a measure that both the state House and Senate had passed earlier in the week -- into law after stating: “The legislation is about respecting and reassuring Hoosiers that their religious freedoms are intact.”

However, blogger Arthur Chu wrote an article the same day for the liberal Daily Beast website on this topic with the title “Gay Money Is No Good in Indiana” under the subhead “Bigots Vs. Business.”

MSNBC's Chris Hayes Responds to Record Low Ratings in Demo by Attacking Ted Cruz
March 26, 2015, 8:17 PM EDT

It's no secret that the liberal MSNBC cable channel is in freefall in both ratings and the important demographic of viewers from 25 to 54 years old, and one of the hosts most likely to face the chopping block is the anchor of the All In With Chris Hayes program.

Just when it seemed that things couldn't get any worse for Hayes, his series had its worst week since the show debuted in April 2013, averaging only 74,000 viewers in that demo during the week of March 16.

Jay Leno: College Students Are 'So Politically Correct’ Now
March 21, 2015, 2:21 PM EDT

During one of his rare television appearances since stepping down as host of NBC's Tonight Show on February 6, 2014, Jay Leno discussed a wide variety of topics with the host of Late Night With Seth Meyers, including the dramatic rise of political correctness on college campuses.

The topic came up when Meyers congratulated Leno for winning the Mark Twain Award for Humor -- a bronze bust of the 19th-Century novelist, essayist and humorist -- which is presented annually by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing arts “to an individual who has made a significant contribution to American humor.”

MSNBC Finally Prepares to Change Its Current 'Death Wish' Schedule
March 19, 2015, 7:05 PM EDT

As NewsBusters has often reported, MSNBC's line-up has led the cable news channel to a freefall in the ratings, with Baltimore Sun media critic David Zurawik blasting the schedule as “unwatchable” and “24 hours a day of mess.”

In an article posted on Thursday, Politico columnist Dylan Byers reported that the channel's daytime year-to-date viewership “is down 21 percent overall and 41 percent in the coveted 25- to 54-year-old demographic.”

John Kerry Has Same Embellishing 'Memory Problem' as Brian Williams, WashPost Claims
March 18, 2015, 8:14 PM EDT

Just five weeks after Brian Williams was suspended from his post as managing editor and anchor of the weekday NBC Nightly News for six months without pay for “embellishing” events that took place while he was covering the Iraq War in 2003, another well-known figure is facing similar charges.
During Wednesday's edition of the Washington Post, Glenn Kessler accused the current secretary of state of having “a Brian Williams problem” since Kerry claimed in a speech last Thursday that he was part of the group that included then-senator Al Gore and then-senator Tim Wirth in “organizing the first Senate hearings on climate change.”

Seth Meyers Tries to Shame Ted Cruz for Telling 3-year-old Girl 'Whole World Is on Fire'
March 17, 2015, 8:39 PM EDT

During Monday's edition of the NBC program Late Night With Seth Meyers, the liberal host did his best to embarrass Texas senator Ted Cruz for stating that “the whole world is on fire” because of the “Obama-Clinton foreign policy of leading from behind.”

In a video of the campaign stop, the likely Republican candidate for president in 2016 was slamming the Democrats' record during the past several years when the voice of 3-year-old Julie Trant echoed his comment.

Before Speech to Congress, Israel's Netanyahu Seen as More Favorable Than Obama in U.S.
March 2, 2015, 7:17 PM EST

Ever since House Speaker John Boehner in mid-January invited Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's current prime minister, to speak before both chambers of Congress on Tuesday, March 3, the White House and most members of the press have slammed the fact that the Ohio Republican didn't consult the president before extending the offer, which many Democrats and White House officials have interpreted as an effort to undermine Obama's diplomatic negotiations with Iran.

However, the months of relentless attacks have instead boosted Netanyahu's favorability rating in America, where nearly twice as many people view Israel's leader positively (45 percent) as negatively (24 percent).

Bill O'Reilly Slams 'Haters' on Left and Right, Says Smearing Should Be 'Unacceptable'
February 26, 2015, 7:07 PM EST

Fox News Channel host Bill O'Reilly used Wednesday evening's edition of The O'Reilly Factor to hammer “haters on both sides” of the political divide during a segment entitled “Hating President Obama.”

He began by stating: “At the height of the Iraq War, the vilification of President Bush the younger was off the chart,” with “the left in America accusing him and Vice President Dick Cheney of lying to get us into the war.”
