I am probably the only writer on NewsBusters to have received an award from the Soviet Union. It was for my work as an American correspondent for Krokodil Magazine which you can see chronicled in I Was A Commie Writer.

I live in South Florida which is full of eccentrics which is why I feel right at home here. My main accomplishments in life were winning a bottle of aftershave when I was eight and having the biggest PING List (over 1000 Pingees) on the Free Republic forum for my DUmmie FUnnies blog. This is fortunate since I suffer severely from Ping List Envy. 

Prior to the advent of the Web, I wrote a syndicated humor column that appeared in dozens of newspapers throughout North America. Only complete humility forbids me from telling you that my columns appeared in the Houston Chronicle, St. Petersburg Times, L.A Herald-Examiner, Winnipeg Free Press, Cleveland Plain Dealer, Vancouver Sun, and lots of other periodicals that I am much to humble to list. 

 Oh, I also produced an award-winning satirical comix website called PJ's Comix. This sort of balances out the fact that I am the WORST basketball player in the world.

When I lived in Los Angeles, I wrote comedy material for comedians. Sorry,  due to business ethics I can't reveal any of their names (Argus Hamilton).

Today marks the 800th anniversary of the signing of the Magna Carta. It was on June 15, 1215 that the English King John met his barons on Runnymede field to reluctantly affix his seal to the great charter that granted more powers to the latter. By strange coincidence, yesterday also marked the notable event when Chuck Todd on Meet The Press allowed a couple of panelists to question a guest, Bill Daley. 

This was actually nothing new because in its original format, which has been forgotten in recent years, Meet The Press meant exactly that...meet the press, not just the host. Your humble correspondent, often feeling like Captain Ahab in his desperate search for the great white whale, has been harping on this point for nearly a year when he reminded any who would listen about the promise of a return to the original format by NBC News president Deborah Turness:

Could you just give me a straight answer? Like a simple yes or no? Please don't try to squirm your way out of it. You still won't answer? Aggghhh! Aggghhh! AGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!

One could forgive Jake Tapper if he felt like channeling his inner Sam Kinison on CNN's The Lead today while he was trying to get a simple answer from Hillary Clinton spokeswoman, Karen Finney, on the subject of Hillary's position on the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership) trade bill in Congress. Tapper's very visible exasperation with Finney's nonanswers were  completely understandable as she continued her evasive shuffle on the topic all through the interview.

Clueless: Joyce Carol Oates Outraged Over Selfie With 'Dead Dinosaur'

The horror...the horror.

Novelist Joyce Carol Oates went into full liberal outrage mode when she spotted a picture of that notorious big game hunter, Steven Spielberg posing with his prey. In this case it was a Triceratops dinosaur prop from the Jurassic Park movie set. It turns out that Oates' anger comes about 65 million years too late because that was about how long ago this dinosaur went extinct.  Her laughably misplaced anger was in reaction to a tongue in cheek tweet by IGN movie editor Chris Tilly who probably didn't think any rational person would take him seriously.

Texas Southern Demands No Press Interviews During Hillary Appearance

As we have seen, members of the mainstream media met to complain about the "excessively tight grip on information" by the Hillary Clinton campaign. So what was the reaction? As relayed by Texas Southern University where Hillary will be appearing tomorrow, "There will be NO opportunities to interview Hillary Clinton; her speech will be her interview." Got that? Yet another lesson from the Clinton Obedience School for Wayward Press Puppies as posted in a tweet from Bloomberg Politics correspondent, Jennifer Epstein. Oh, and don't think the press can write secret notes on papel de tush in private because restroom precautions on that have also been taken.

Les Moonves Stiffs Parking Valet Because He Only Carried Huge Wad of 100s

Look at the size of that wad! It's huge! And it is all 100 dollar bills! How much you carrying there, Les? $5000? $10,000? $20,000? More?

As we have seen, the networks declined to report that their CEOs including CBS CEO Les Moonves who earned over $54 million this past year were "overpaid." Perhaps they were embarrassed to report this. However, even more embarrassing is that Moonves is so cheap that he used a big wad of hundred dollar bills to stiff a restaurant parking valet out of a tip as you can see in the video on the Page Six report of the New York Post:

CNBC Correspondent Chock Full of Snark About a Hillary Press 'Briefing'

As we have seen many times in the past, CNBC Chief Washington correspondent John Harwood has been reliably liberal. In fact just a few hours ago, Newsbusters ran a story featuring Harwood once again spinning for Hillary Clinton. Therefore it is notable when even a team player such as Harwood gets so upset with the content free Hillary "briefing" that he breaks out in one snarky paragraph after another.

Perhaps the Hillary campaign thinks it is a cute idea to cut reporters off from any meaningful information but when it causes someone like Harwood to go full out snark, perhaps someone there might dare to suggest another press strategy to Hillary. In the meantime let us enjoy a few chuckles from the Harwood snark attack before he relapses back to liberal team player mode:

Vulture Fascinated by Mattress Girl Mattress as Museum Art; Ignores Hoax Proof

The appropriately named Vulture section of New York magazine has circled over what all proof indicates is a rape hoax and swooped down to gorge itself on speculation about the museum art future of the mattress carried around by the infamous Columbia University "Mattress Girl," Emma Sulkowicz. Amid all the really bizarre fascination by writer Andy Battaglia in the mattress as an art piece, not a bit of thought is even given as to the legitimacy of the rape charges by Sulkowicz despite very strong documentary evidence that it was a hoax.

Battaglia's determination to avoid the facts of the case and indulge in his fanboy fascination with the mattress as art begins with the title, "Will Emma Sulkowicz’s Protest Mattress Wind Up in a Museum?" and goes straight downhill from there:

Jonathan Gruber Glaringly Absent From NYT Article on Obamacare Wording 'Mistake'

New York Times writer Robert Pear  knows his name but he didn't say it in his article about how four words in the Obamacare law was simply a mistake. Pear quotes a number of people involved in the law's writing process but fails to mention the one who was acknowledged as the architect of Obamacare...until it became politically inconvenient to do so---Jonathan Gruber. And the reason why Gruber's name went unmentioned in the article is because of his claim, recorded for all eternity on video, that only state established health exchanges would be eligible for subsidies.

Bedazzled NYT Reporter Wonders if Hillary Can Capture Fashionista Support

Have you ever wondered if there was more to life, other than being really, really, ridiculously good looking? ---Derek Zoolander. 

It sounds like a script from the "Zoolander" movie but it is the hilariously too real report from Jason Horowitz in the very appropriate Fashion & Style section of the New York Times. Horowitz, who often sounds like he wants to ride on Hillary's lap to the White House, covers what he thinks is the oh so important subject of whether Hillary Clinton can win the support of the very very fashionable. First we find out that the very fashionable Marie Claire contributing editor Audrey Gelman no longer feels like an outcast as she did in 2008 for supporting Hillary:

Oh Hillary! Can I ride on your lap to the White House? I know President Obama sends tingles up Chris Mathews' leg so can I go knee to knee with you and draw upon your energy? Oh Hillary...what do you eat? Drink? Dream about when you sleep?

Am I describing an awestruck liberal who goes dreamy eyed in the presence of Hillary Clinton? What if I were tell you that the scenario I just described actually happened and the dreamy eyed one was Wall Street Journal reporter, Monica Langley? Still don't believe me? Well, that is the scenario that Clinton aides described in the State Department email released today. Here is the October 11, 2012 email sent out by Hillary aide, Phillipe Rienes, in which he sounds like he is setting the scene of a comedic romance novel:

Stephanopoulos Clinton Foundation Scandal Inspires Hilarious Street Art

One fringe benefit of the George Stephanopoulos Clinton Foundation scandal in which ABC's This Week host failed to disclose that he donated $75,000 (plus lots of time) to that organization while interviewing "Clinton Cash" author Peter Schweizer  is that it has inspired some really hilarious street art. The poster art appears to be the work of the conservative street artist who goes by the name of "Sabo." Not only was it just the art that served as comedy relief but also where it was located as revealed in a tweet this morning by the Weekly Standard senior writer, Mark Hemingway.

 

Sarah Kliff Discovers Obamacare Stinks

Over the past few years there has been no greater Obamacare cheerleader than Sarah Kliff of General Electric Vox. Therefore it was quite a revelation today to discover she had a change of heart and has found her formerly beloved program to be deeply flawed. Is it too harsh to claim she now thinks Obamacare stinks? Well the Vox headline on her article used the term "crummier" as in "Health insurance plans are getting crummier, and these charts prove it."

So just how much crummier have the Obamacare insurance plans gotten, Sarah? Let the former Obamacare cheerleader tell us why the program stinks:

Oops! Updated NASA Data Reveals No Global Warming Polar Ice Retreat

Talk about poor timing! Just as President Obama is about to give the commencement address at the Coast Guard Academy on the subject of the perils of global warming, a report has come out in Forbes Magazine that updated NASA data reveals that contrary to the many alarmist stories in the mainstream media, the polar ice caps are not receding. 

James Taylor, who has written on energy and environment issues, reveals that the polar ice caps have not receded at all since NASA data measurements began in 1979. Taylor also notes that the MSM has remained resolutely silent on these latest NASA data revelations.

ABC News Has 105 Million Reasons to Keep Stephanopoulos

Too big to fall? Yeah, like $105 million too big.

The New York Post reports that ABC News renewed their contract with George Stephanopoulos for $105 million last year. And now it is simply too expensive to dump the face of ABC News for the huge ethical lapse of failing to disclose his $75,000 in donations to the Clinton Foundation in addition to not revealing the time he spent hosting events for that organization while interviewing "Clinton Cash" author Peter Schweizer. 

Chelsea Clinton Reported to Have Acted as Prima Donna at NBC News

Know your place, peon! You may not approach Chelsea Clinton. If you need to contact her, you can only do so indirectly through a producer. Never face to face which is for ordinary people.

Those were the instructions for Chelsea's co-workers at not only NBC News but also at the management consulting firm at McKinsey where she briefly worked. Apparently Chelsea's attitude is so toxic that even dedicated liberals at the Clinton Foundation have split rather than having to deal with Chelsea according to a New York Post report.

Politico: Washington Free Beacon Broke Stephanopoulos Clinton Foundation Story

So how did Politico break the George Stephanopoulos Clinton Foundation donations story? Actually they didn't break it at all. The story was shopped to Politico after the Washington Free Beacon made inquiries to ABC News about Stephanopoulos' contributions to the Clinton Foundation. Apparently ABC News thought Politico would offer more favorable coverage so they leaked the story to Politico. However, to his great credit, Politico writer Jack Shafer not only acknowledged the crucial role of the Free Beacon but was also highly critical of ABC News for this tactic. 

Vox Inadvertently Undermines Global Warming Settled Science Argument

It's official. 2014 was the hottest year ever recorded!

Oops! Never mind. It turned out upon closer investigation that NASA scientists admitted that there was only a 38% chance that was true. Perhaps Vox should have peered just a few months into the future to see their own article written by Julia Belluz and Steven Hoffman which stated that "Science is often flawed. It's time we embraced that." Okay, great, but will Vox embrace it in the future when it comes to wild declarations about Global Warming or will they relapse to their normal routine?

Huh? Actor Richard Dreyfuss Writes Rational Article for PJ Media

Which is weirder: building a flat topped mountain out of mashed potatoes or an actor who until about four years ago was a left wing lunatic but is now writing a rational article for the conservative PJ Media? When you humble correspondent saw the name "Richard Dreyfuss" as the author of an article in PJ Media, he immediately thought it must be a writer with the same name as the actor. However, after scrolling down to the bottom of the story, imagine my surprise upon discovering that it was indeed the actor. Although Dreyfuss did display a moment of mental clarity last year on Fox News last year when he spoke out in favor of American Exceptionalism, it could have been written off as just a freak event. Apparently it seems to part of a learning curve.

'Hitler' Finds Out Conservatives Have Won 2015 UK Election

Remember those poll numbers on the eve of the parliamentary election in Great Britain that showed an even split between the Conservative Party and Labour? Oops! They were wrong. Man how they were wrong! The Conservatives won a clear majority and the big losers besides Labour are the pollsters. 

Although many Americans on this side of the pond find British politics to be a bit confusing, this "Hitler" rant video clears up the election results in a very humorous manner. Strong language alert but you will find out the election results in a very entertaining manner.

New Republic: Hillary's Problems Are Bill's Fault

It almost sounds like Hillary Clinton is a hostage who needs to be rescued according to New Republic writer Rebecca Traister. And who is holding poor Hillary hostage? Why, her own husband, Bill Clinton. According to Traister, Hillary is a poor innocent who has been tainted by the activities of Bill, especially as regards the Clinton Foundation. Traister's solution can be seen in the very title of her article: "The Best Thing Hillary Could Do for Her Campaign? Ditch Bill."
