For almost a month the mainstream media have declared the Tea Party dead - are you listening, E.J. Dionne? - as a result of the government shutdown.
However, a new Rasmussen poll finds that an equal number of Americans identify with the Tea Party's views as do Obama's:
Actor and activist Sean Penn said Monday that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tx.) and other Tea Partiers in Congress need to be committed by executive order.
Such was said to a laughing Piers Morgan on the CNN program bearing his name (video follows with transcript and commentary):
In his sales pitch for ObamaCare, the President regularly told Americans that if they liked their current health insurance policies, they could keep them.
A blockbuster report just published at NBCNews.com by Lisa Myers and Hannah Rappleye not only completely refutes this, but claims that the Administration has known for at least three years that millions would lose their coverage due to ObamaCare's implementation:
"[T]he kind of traditional New York Times model...I think has neutered and, in a lot of ways, helped to kill journalism as a potent force for checking power."
So said Glenn Greenwald during an interview with Democracy Now's Amy Goodman Monday (video follows with transcript and commentary):
Is it possible for CNN's John Avlon to at least pretend to be impartial?
On Sunday's Reliable Sources, in the closing segment about PolitiFact's just announced new website PunditFact, Avlon showed three reports by the organization: one giving conservative author Ann Coulter a "Pants on Fire," another giving Fox News host Sean Hannity a "Mostly False," and a third giving MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell a "Mostly True" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
Syndicated columnist George Will made a comment about ObamaCare Sunday that has to have the President’s supporters – particularly in the media! – quaking in their boots.
Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Will said, “It is possible that more people since the first of October have lost their coverage than have signed up for the Affordable Care Act, government program, in all 50 states” (video follows with transcript and absolutely no need for additional commentary):
Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan said something about ObamaCare Sunday that the majority of Americans clearly agree with.
Appearing on CBS’s Face the Nation, Noonan said, “I wish we could stop the whole thing, go back to point one and say, ‘Let's try this again’” (video follows with transcript and commentary):
As we approach the 50th anniversary of the assassination of John F. Kennedy, it seems a metaphysical certitude there are going to be some really absurd statements made by the liberal media concerning this tragedy.
I suggest none will be as preposterous as CBS Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer actually claiming Sunday, “Nothing like this had ever happened” (video follows with transcript and commentary):
While the media surprisingly focus attention on the disastrous rollout of the health insurance exchanges, the bigger story is the number of Americans that are seeing their premiums explode as a result of the so-called "Affordable Care Act."
Kudos therefore go to the the Los Angeles Times which began a Sunday article titled "Some Health Insurance Gets Pricier as Obamacare Rolls Out" with the equally surprising lead, "Thousands of Californians are discovering what Obamacare will cost them — and many don't like what they see":
People familiar with liberal cartoonist and polemicist Ted Rall will be shocked by a piece he published at Daily Kos Friday wherein he actually agreed with former Alaska governor Sarah Palin.
Trust me, they'll likely be even more shocked with what he had to say about President Obama.
Even before the disastrous ObamaCare launch, many conservative pundits have said the so-called “Affordable Care Act” was the first step toward a single-payer, universal healthcare system in America.
On PBS’s Inside Washington Friday, syndicated columnist Mark Shields and Politico’s Evan Thomas both advanced single-payer as the solution to all that ails us with host Gordon Peterson agreeing (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):
Is it ignorance that causes liberal media members to speak falsehoods when talking about either politics or the economy or is it a willful dishonesty?
Take the case of Mark Shields who on PBS's News Hour Friday actually said of Republicans, "They have had one major victory in the past 25 years" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
You might not be familiar with the entertainment website The Wrap, but every now and then it ventures into the world of politics - always from the left, of course.
On Friday evening, it published an article titled "8 of TV’s Most Unintentionally Scary Characters," and blazened below the headline was a picture of our dear friend and conservative author, Ann Coulter:
Bill Maher really is one sick puppy.
On HBO’s Real Time Friday, the host asked the federal government to legalize marijuana so that he could be able to hand it out to trick-or-treaters on Halloween (video follows with transcript and commentary):
If you hadn’t heard, there are a growing number of Democrats wanting to delay the implementation of the ObamaCare individual mandate as a result of the disastrous rollout of the health insurance exchanges.
With this in mind, National Review’s Jonah Goldberg on Fox News’s Special Report Friday marvelously quipped, “I’m scandalized by these racist, anarchist, extremist, hostage-taking Democrats who want to delay ObamaCare which is the law of the land” (video follows with commentary):
As NewsBusters reported Wednesday, Congressman Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) this week sent out a fundraising email equating Tea Party members to the Ku Klux Klan.
On Friday, MSNBC’s Martin Bashir actually called Grayson out for doing this only to have the Congressman accuse him of collaborating with the Tea Party (video follows with transcript and commentary):
For your Friday afternoon entertainment pleasure, I give you a comment conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh made a few hours ago.
"The full weight of the evil of Obamacare is going to end up being a wrecking ball so big, not even Miley Cyrus would ride it" (Daily Rushbo video follows with partial transcript and commentary):
Jay Leno continued mocking the rollout of ObamaCare Thursday.
The NBC Tonight Show host began the program with a series of jokes about President Obama including recommending he “put the NSA in charge of the website. That way there's nothing to fill out. They already have all our information. See? Just put your name in” (video follows with transcript and absolutely no need for additional commentary):
