You know you've got a problem when GIs would rather be peelin taters than listening to the commander-in-chief give a speech!
Nineteen leading pro-life organizations joined the Media Research Center to chastise the networks for their near blackout of the 2015 March for Life. The Annual March for Life, which attracted over 200,000 participants from around the country, marked the 42nd anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion.
On Tuesday, just as President Obama was putting the finishing touches on his State of the Union address, MRC President Brent Bozell assessed the “State of the Media” in 2015. He warned of four trends that could be expected in the coming year: the continued media cover-up of Obama’s scandals and his many policy failures; positive coverage for left-wing initiatives such as Obama’s executive amnesty; coverage that dishonestly paints Hillary Clinton as a moderate, and “scorched earth” attacks against any conservatives who decides to run against her.
Terry Jeffrey of our CNSNews.com website reported on what may have been an inadvertent moment of candor, when President Obama clearly suggested he believes the vast major of TV news stations are liberal.
Whatever his intention, President Barack Obama revealed to a crowd at Boise State on Wednesday his belief that there is one conservative station in the TV news world, and many liberal stations.
A time capsule buried by Paul Revere and Samuel Adams 220 years ago has been opened in Boston. It contained silver and copper coins, newspapers, and a pinup photo of Betty White. --Jodi Miller
Media Research Center President Brent Bozell made waves on the Fox Business show "Varney & Co." when he declared "I'm not Charlie." He said an al-Jazeera executive was not wrong to assert that "the right to be obnoxious and offensive just because you can is infantile." He explained just how offensive the magazine could be to Christians who revere the Holy Trinity.
Bozell denounced the terrorist acts, but insisted "you can defend a legal right; you cannot defend a moral wrong."
"CNN had its lowest ratings ever last year. To give you an idea how bad it is, The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer is now The Isolation Booth with Wolf Blitzer." -- Jodi Miller.
On Wednesday, The Washington Post’s Philip Bump assembled seven charts to explain the national debt under Obama, and began with the assessment of Terence Jeffrey at CNSNews.com, a sister site to NewsBusters. Bump included CNS calculations of how much debt had accumulated per household, per full-time worker and per full-time private sector worker.

Appearing on Saturday's Fox & Friends on Fox News, Media Research Center research director Rich Royes detailed the utter failure of several media predictions about 2015. From The New York Times estimating huge budget surpluses for the U.S. government to CNN warning of a real-life war on women, Noyes told hosts Tucker Carlson and Peter Johnson just how wrong the liberal press was in its prognosticating.
On the December 30 Fox & Friends, they discussed the Media Research Center’s Best Notable Quotables of 2014 with Genevieve Wood, one of our panel of judges and a senior contributor for The Daily Signal. They discussed CNN anchor Carol Costello winning MRC’s Quote of the Year for enjoying the talk of Bristol Palin being shoved to the ground and man-handled during a barroom brawl.
Appearing on Fox News's Hannity Thursday night, NewsBusters publisher and Media Research Center president Brent Bozell condemned the network news for its lack of coverage of the brutal oppression of Fidel Castro's communist regime in the wake of President Obama reopening diplomatic relations with Cuba: "[Castro] has been a mythological figure to the left-wing press since the 1950s. They – for 40 years they've chosen to ignore the repressive nature of this Stalinist regime that has done so much to try to harm America."
On Thursday night, Media Research Center President Brent Bozell appeared on Fox News’ Hannity to promote the MRC’s Notable Quotables “Worst of the Worst 2014" awards. During the segment, Bozell highlighted Chris Matthews winning the “Ku Klux Con Job for Smearing Conservatives with Phony Racism Charges” for arguing that Republicans supporting voter ID laws was “murder in broad daylight.”
The Media Research Center (MRC) is proud to announce the Worst of the Worst of 2014: The 27th Annual Awards for the Year’s Worst Reporting, with CNN anchor Carol Costello taking home the “Quote of the Year” honor for telling her viewers to enjoy listening to former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s daughter, Bristol, get attacked and berated:
Fox News Channel White House correspondent Ed Henry posed some tough questions to White House press secretary Josh Earnest regarding President Obama's hypocrisy on enhanced interrogation techniques.
NewsBusters executive editor Tim Graham appeared Tuesday night on “Cavuto” on the Fox Business Channel to discuss former ABC reporter Ann Compton’s revelation that President Obama unleashed angry, even “profanity-laced” tirades at the press in off-the-record briefings.
"My guess in this case, it's safe to uncork a profanity laced tirade when you’re off the record,” Graham said. “I would argue that it was probably designed to get them to stop saying anhing about so-called Obama scandals on the air or in their newspapers. It’s winning through intimidation.”
"Candy Crowley resigned from CNN last week. Crowley will be remembered for her many achievements, such as becoming the first woman to win a presidential debate. Speaking of Crowley, she will remain at CNN until January for State of the Union address, where she is expected to load all necessary talking points into President Obama’s teleprompter." -- Jodi Miller
Earlier today, Media Research Center (MRC) founder and president Brent Bozell reacted to a study just released by the MRC revealing that the big three broadcast networks -- ABC, CBS, and NBC -- have covered unknown Capitol Hill staffer Elizabeth Lauten’s Facebook post – about how President Obama’s daughters looked and acted at an official event – almost twice as much as ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber’s “stupid voters” comments.
"This is beyond ridiculous. The networks rushed to cover a Hill staffer’s silly comments on Facebook, but waited more than a week to cover an ObamaCare architect’s serious admission that voters were deceived about a policy that affects every American; and they gave almost twice as much coverage to the silly story than to the serious story."
While liberal media bias certainly doesn't help matters when it comes to assigning "blame" for government shutdowns, Media Research Center president Brent Bozell told Fox News host Neil Cavuto this afternoon that the real problem is "Republicans themselves are blaming themselves" by running as far as they can from the possibility of using a government shutdown as leverage for addressing President Obama's executive amnesty overreach.
This was found on Facebook yesterday, from a leftist academic who really wanted to spill guilt on the Thanskgiving table: "Just something to think about on First Nations and Indigenous People's Day; in light of world wide poverty, the crimes in Ferguson and the immensity of the western world's wealth:"
