“For the first time in history, there are two Hispanic candidates running for president…the Republicans have been doing something right,” proclaimed Univision anchorman Jorge Ramos during a recent speech at Harvard’s Kennedy School.
The mainstream media has barely given any attention to the historic candidacies of Rubio and Cruz, unlike the constant attention they gave Obama in 2008.Ramos also pointed out that “Democrats don’t have a single Hispanic candidate for this election."
In case the adulatory media coverage of Hillary Clinton isn’t enough, there are the adoring Hillary Clinton children’s books. In August, Simon and Schuster will release Hillary Rodham Clinton: Dreams Taking Flight, a picture book for grade-schoolers.
The book is written by Kathleen Krull and is the story of Hillary Clinton’s childhood, her dreams of becoming an astronaut, her education, her experience as First Lady of Arkansas and the nation, and her campaign for president. The book also includes inspirational quotes and messages (let's wonder if any are from the Bible, as she once claimed it was her “biggest influence”), as well as stories of the high points and a few of the low points along the way.
It was only a matter of time before the media began their drool parade over Hillary Clinton. Since the announcement of her presidential run on Sunday, they have been chasing after her like paparazzi, patiently waiting for any word she might utter, and alas, begin the tedious task of trying to paint her into a likeable person.
No more of the “old” Hillary - an opportunistic, scandal ridden, “technically challenged,” pantsuit-wearing former first lady, Senator, Secretary of State….and one of those “evil one-percenters” she claims to detest. The media’s mission, which they have chosen to accept, is to humanize her as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
MSNBC’s Ed Schultz can’t seem to stop the partisan doubletalk spewing from his big mouth. Last week, Schultz had the audacity to say that Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul has an “issue” with female reporters (after all, as Ann Coulter pointed out recently, Schultz is very well known for how he treats the ladies -- ask Laura Ingraham).
But on Tuesday Schultz was declaring that the left’s leading lady “doesn’t have to answer questions right now” from the press, male or female.
On Thursday’s The Kelly File, host Megyn Kelly jumped all over MSNBC’s Ed Schultz for having the audacity to lecture Rand Paul, or anyone for that matter, on the subject of sexism.
Schultz claims, “There is evidence Rand Paul has a real problem with women reporters.” Kelly and her guest Ann Coulter laughed away at Schultz since it was about four years ago Schultz called conservative radio talk-show host Laura Ingraham a “right-wing slut.”
On March 30, Purvi Patel was found guilty of taking abortion-inducing drugs illegally, causing her 25-28 week old “fetus” to die, and tossing the infant’s body in a dumpster. She is the first woman in the United States sentenced for feticide. In the state of Indiana, which has feticide laws, it is illegal to kill an unborn fetus without the assistance of an abortionist (meaning, an unborn child is treated like a person under the feticide law), however, “special permission” is given for an abortion conducted by an abortionist.
Patel’s conviction is causing a lot of controversy, but for all the wrong reasons.
Lauren Ashburn, a regular guest on MediaBuzz on the Fox News Channel, wrote an article for Mediaite on how the “mainstream” media doesn’t really want to engage the country in a discussion about "gruesome abortion stories."
“Yet contrast abortion coverage with the endless hours and words devoted to batting down Indiana’s religious freedom law,” she wrote. “Conservatives got plenty of air. Why is it that the media will make a fuss about marriage equality, but issues related to abortion are now a no-go?”
Screenwriter and actress Lena Dunham has managed to put herself back in the limelight amid a new controversy. Dunham finds herself in the news not because her show Girls had season premiere ratings that plummeted by 40 percent, or the questionable incidents from her book Not that Kind of Girl that included passages of molesting her sister or falsely accusing an innocent man of raping her. No. This time Dunham is being accused of anti-Semitism for a quiz she wrote, asking readers to choose which statement would refer to her dog…..or her Jewish boyfriend.
While Beltway insiders think Hillary Clinton has the Democratic presidential nomination all squared away, some have tried to build a buzz arond former Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley as a challenger.
In Iowa, a college newspaper tried to sell O'Malley as a "new JFK." Don't they do that a lot with Democrats?
New York Times reporter Amy Chozick was “warned” on Twitter by a group called “HRC Super Volunteers” against using so-called “sexist” words about Hillary Clinton. The words they deemed “coded sexism” include:“polarizing,” “calculating,” “disingenuous,” “insincere,” “ambitious,” “inevitable,” “entitled,” “over confident,” “secretive,” “will do anything to win,” “represents the past,” and “out of touch.”
For added effect, the group threatened, “You are on notice that we will be watching, reading, listening and protesting coded sexism.”
This past Friday, sportscaster (and anti-gun advocate) Bob Costas was on HBO's Real Time With Bill Maher, where he scoffed at the criticism he’s received for making many anti-gun statements: “Is this what the Founding Fathers had in mind? … That private citizens should be able to purchase cop-killer, armor piercing bullets? That you should be able to have a AK-47?”
On Monday, The New York Times ran an online story about Jeffrey Williams, the 20 year old Ferguson resident suspected of shooting two Ferguson officers, in which they first reported that Williams was in fact protesting during the night of the shooting incident. Tuesday morning, the same URL that the online story appeared no longer had that little (but very crucial) piece of information that confirmed Williams was one of the Ferguson protestors. (This important detail has since been returned.)
Bill Maher, host of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, held a discussion on Friday’s show about Republicans “trying to interfere” with Obama’s negotiations with Iran via an open letter. Of course, Maher didn’t mention that there are 12 Democrats supporting a tough stance on Iran in addition to the 47 Republican senators that signed the letter.
Maher’s panelists were Arianna Huffington, Tom Rogan of National Review, and former CBS investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson. But the toast of the studio was leftist actor Sean Penn, who Maher showered with praise for his international charity work. As always, Penn had some rather incendiary comments to say on matters that pertain to countries run by dictatorship or communist rule, charging those 47 Republicans who signed the letter of “criminal mutiny.”

In former NBC reporter Lisa Myers, she finds a kindred spirit. On Friday, she wrote “Lisa Myers sounds like me. She is also a former network news investigative journalist. She left her longtime job at NBC about the time I left my longtime job at CBS. To me, it is interesting that some of our experiences and thoughts are so similar.”
Right on the heels of the New York Times piece on Pope Francis being “strikingly tone-deaf toward the sensitivities and needs of women” in the Catholic Church, The Daily Beast ran a story on Monday that wrongfully suggests Pope Francis has permitted a priest to speak out about the supposed confession of former Italian Prime Minister Aldo Moro.
Before Moro was killed by a terrorist group called the Red Brigades in 1978, a priest by the name of Antonio Mennini allegedly heard Moro’s confession, then was said to have performed the sacrament of extreme unction – similar to the last rites given to danger of dying.
Pope Francis will be celebrating his second anniversary to the papacy on March 13. What started off as a liberal media lovefest with the newly elected pope has now tapered off with the media realizing he’s “just another pope” (that’s code for “liberals are upset that he’s not going to change anything in the structure of the Catholic Church.”)
Once plastered on the pages of The New York Times in a favorable light, the paper decided to remember Pope Francis’ anniversary with an article by Elisabetta Povoledo titled “Women See Themselves as Left Out Amid Talk of Change in Catholic Church.”
Sharyl Attkisson, the former CBS investigative reporter whose book Stonewalled exposed liberal bias, was interviewed on Newsmax TV’s MidPoint to discuss the current Clinton scandal of conducting State Department business through personal email accounts. Attkisson says this type of conduct fits a certain pattern of federal bureaus to steer clear of official forms of communication in order to cover themselves from the public.
CNN political analyst Gloria Borger had some pretty strong words Tuesday when she gave her post-speech analysis of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress. She treated the whole thing as a political spectacle.

Ana Marie Cox, the founding editor of the sassy and secular leftist blog Wonkette and now a Washington correspondent for GQ, recently came out of the closet as a -- gasp -- Christian! Cox’s “coming out” was revealed in The Daily Beast, where she is a contributor. The article sounds like something written by a recently converted clergyman, rather than a recently converted liberal blogger.
CNN State of the Union substitute host Dana Bash certainly lived up to her last name when it came to grilling Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) over the Department of Homeland Security funding and asking if the “conservative wing” of the Republican Party was too centered on principle and “chaos” instead of the “reality” of governance.
Bash started the interview off by insinuating that everyone is disgusted. “I want to ask the first question that everybody out there is probably asking, probably in disgust, saying, really? what is wrong with Congress? Why can’t you govern? And why can’t you fund a government agency that keeps us safe?”
