Ed Schultz Lashes Out at Liberals for ‘Income Envy’
December 13, 2013, 5:29 PM EST

Radio and TV blowhard Ed Schultz decided to take a break from his normal act of ranting against Republicans today by raging against some fellow liberals who had the temerity to criticize him and other MSNBC hosts for declining to publicly take the side of union members in a dispute they're having with the cable channel's parent company, NBC Universal.

Schultz, whose shtick is that he is just a working stiff looking out for people like him, lashed out at a report from Salon.com which mentioned him: “I become the target because I’m living good. I become the target because I have a platform,” he said on his radio show Friday. “They’re just out to take somebody down who’s got something they don’t have.”

The Newest Left-wing Lie: Megyn Kelly Is a Racist Who Believes In Santa
December 12, 2013, 6:24 PM EST

Liberals often love to say that conservatives cannot take a joke but the truth is that both left and right sometimes are lacking in the humor department. That’s especially true of the cottage industry that’s sprung up devoted to finding any tiny little thing to bash Fox News, one of the handful of national media outlets that don’t lean left.

The very existence of Fox News appears to be psychologically damaging to some people, which is why the left-leaning websites that cater to them love jumping on any possible thing as a way of providing emotional validation. The Fox haters are up in arms today about a cheeky discussion that took place on last night’s “Kelly File” program in which a mock debate was held about the moral propriety of portraying Santa Claus as a white man, a proposition raised by an essay pubished Dec.10 at Slate.

Celebrities Resume Campaign to Promote Obamacare to Young
December 12, 2013, 10:28 AM EST

Now that some of the problems with the Obamacare website have been fixed, the administration is resuming prior efforts to recruit younger, healthier Americans to purchase insurance in the federal and state exchanges. This is a critical part to the president's health insurance law because based on the few statistics that have been provided, the majority of the people who have successfully selected (but not necessarily purchased) a health insurance plan appear to be elderly and therefore less healthy. The trouble for this strategy is that younger Americans are not signing up for Obamacare to the degree that the president and his allies had hoped. And with good reason: the people most negatively impacted by the new healthcare law are the young since they will be forced to pay higher premiums to subsidize additional services to the elderly.

To combat this, Obamacare supporters have resumed a prior strategy to enlist left-leaning celebrities to encourage their fans to sign up for insurance. As Bloomberg reports, a number of entertainers have enlisted (who knows if they've been paid) to help brainwash gullible fans to act against their own interests:

MSNBC’s Touré Calls Black CNN Anchor Don Lemon ‘White Leader’
December 10, 2013, 9:30 PM EST

Touré Neblett, the hyper-partisan 9/11 truther who is co-host of MSNBC’s afternoon show “The Cycle,” has said a number of idiotic things over the years.

Usually, he says such things in the context of an attack on a conservative or Republican--like last month when he confidently asserted that U.S. Senate seats can be gerrymandered. On Sunday, however, he decided to change things up a bit and make a stupid comment against a non-Republican by calling CNN anchor Don Lemon a “white leader.”

ABC’s Supposed Conservative Matthew Dowd: Income Inequality Means ‘We Have Our Own Version of Apartheid Here’
December 9, 2013, 7:26 PM EST

With the departure of commentator George Will to Fox News, the job of representing the conservative point of view on ABC’s This Week seems to have settled upon Matthew Dowd. Trouble is, Dowd is not really what anyone could fairly characterize as a conservative.

Beyond the fact that he was a Democratic strategist for decades before switching to work for former President George W. Bush in the late 1990s, Dowd’s own political views seem to be rather conventionally liberal. If there was any doubt of that proposition, Dowd dispelled it in a column published last week at the ABC News website focusing on the Obama White House’s latest pet issue: the supposed crisis of income inequality in the United States.

New Jersey Waitress Alleging Anti-Gay Hate Ought to Be Cautionary Tale to Media
December 9, 2013, 12:18 PM EST

A New Jersey waitress who became a minor internet celebrity after she alleged that a customer refused to give her a tip because she is a lesbian appears to have resigned or been fired after evidence was presented that she fabricated the entire incident.

The restaurant, Gallop Asian Bistro, posted a note to its Facebook page Saturday evening saying that it had conducted an investigation into the matter and that upon its conclusion, in a “joint decision,” the waitress, Dayna Morales, “will no longer continue her employment at our restaurant.”

NewsBusters Interview: David Folkenflik on the Meaning of Rupert Murdoch
December 8, 2013, 2:30 AM EST

As much as people on the left in this country and others rage against Rupert Murdoch and his many creations it is rather remarkable how most American conservatives, even professional political junkies, know or care very little about the man.

Beyond missing out on understanding how Murdoch’s life is a textbook case of the power and influence of media on policy, people on the right who aren’t very familiar with Murdoch are also missing out on a number of interesting stories.

Ed Schultz Speaks for God: Obamacare Is Divinely Approved
December 5, 2013, 5:00 PM EST

Most people don’t know this, but beyond being a professional gasbag, MSNBC host Ed Schultz is also a prophet in direct communication with God. He let the world know this on his program last night when he pronounced that President Obama’s very unpopular health care law is something that all Christians should support because, in actual truth, God approves of Obamacare.

“I’ll tell you what I think God thinks of the Affordable Care Act: it’s a big amen,” Shultz pronounced before heading into a commercial break. Unfortunately for world peace and people of all faiths seeking answers, the left-wing host didn’t continue enlightening everyone about just what else was on God’s mind.

NYT Downplays Own Reporting That Obamacare ‘Tech Surge’ Was Only About Six People
December 3, 2013, 5:33 PM EST

Talk about burying the lede. Deep within a 5,000-word story published today in the New York Times about the Obamacare website launch is the very damaging disclosure that the much-vaunted “tech surge” promised by the president in late October was mostly just a publicity stunt. In truth, the number of people brought in to work on the project was no more than “about a half-dozen.”

Not only that, despite the Obama Administration’s claims that it met its November 30 deadline to have things fully operational, it turns out that much of the software code that operates away from website users and passes their information along to insurance companies has not even been written.

NewsBusters Interview: Daniel Flynn on the War on Football
November 29, 2013, 6:53 PM EST

There’s no question that football is the most popular sport in America. For decades, NFL games have been the top-rated program on all of television even as hundreds of other networks have started up and fragmented the television audience. College football also continues to be reliably popular with many universities desperately seeking to cash in on bowl games and endorsements.

The success of football has made it a target for the bottom-feeders known as the trial lawyers, however, and in recent years, there have been several enormous lawsuits launched against the NFL and against its official helmet manufacturer, Riddell. These lawsuits, and the often shoddy science behind them have been seized upon in the media, even by some people who should know better.

Far Left Democratic Underground Members Discuss How to Deal With Menace of Fox News in Public Places
November 26, 2013, 7:01 PM EST

It’s the end of the year which means for about the next two months, families will be getting together for holiday festivities. To most people, November and December are something to look forward to but to the perpetually unhappy souls over at Democratic Underground, the holidays are a time of torment.

Besides the sheer horror that Thanksgiving is to those of the vegan persuasion, many DUers have conservative-leaning relatives who aren’t afraid to speak their ideologically diverse opinions. Things are made even worse by the fact that many of the tender lambs might also be exposed to the propaganda filth machine that is Fox News Channel whether in a public space or in someone’s home. Whatever is an intolerant hyper-partisan Democrat to do?

The Numbers: Media Have Mostly Ignored Martin Bashir’s Sick Attack on Sarah Palin
November 26, 2013, 5:30 AM EST

Much has been said in recent days about the obvious double-standard employed by the left-wing MSNBC cable news channel after host Martin Bashir said that Sarah Palin deserved to be defecated and urinated upon. While he was forced to apologize on the air for his remarks, Bashir has been neither suspended nor fired, unlike actor Alec Baldwin who was suspended for two weeks for allegedly using anti-gay language in a confrontation with a paparazzo.

Perhaps the reason for that disparity is that in terms of media coverage, Bashir’s disgusting comment has received very little attention in the broader journalistic world. While media industry websites and conservative-leaning outlets have been talking about the controversy quite a bit, the self-described “mainstream” media has actually shown little interest in the story, far less attention than they gave to much tamer comments made by conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh about a previously obscure Georgetown University law school student named Sandra Fluke in 2012.

Gloria Borger's New Spin on Healthcare.gov: Obama Just Doesn't Like Bad News
November 18, 2013, 10:55 PM EST

Now that even the most partisan Democrats have been forced to admit that the Healthcare.gov website has been a disaster, media lefties are scrambling to answer the question of how it happened—while simultaneously trying to draw as few implications about the leadership of President Obama.

As she so often does, CNN analyst Gloria Borger has provided a preview into what the conventional left-media analysis is going to become: Obama just doesn’t like bad news. And somehow this has something to do with not just George W. Bush but also Ronald Reagan.

ObamaCare Architect Ezekiel Emanuel: Website Disaster Actually Fault of Fox News
November 14, 2013, 7:44 PM EST

Over the years, lefties have blamed Fox News for all sorts of things. Now, via ObamaCare architect Ezekiel Emanuel, we learn that the nation’s sole non-liberal television news operation is actually responsible for the HealthCare.gov debacle. In a debate with FNC host Megyn Kelly on her program last night, Ezekiel argued that Fox News Channel was really to blame for the fact that almost no one has signed up for the Obamacare insurance exchanges that are the center-piece of the law.

“You and your colleagues were constantly criticizing, trying to underfund it and trying to make sure it didn’t work,” a very combative Emanuel argued as Kelly pressed him on whether the Obama Administration actually knew that many people who had purchased health insurance in the individual market were going to lose their coverage thanks to mandates by the Affordable Care Act. Washington Post Hires National Review Reporter Robert Costa
November 7, 2013, 11:50 AM EST

Earlier today the Washington Post announced that it had hired National Review's Washington Editor Robert Costa. This marks perhaps the first time in decades that a top-tier "mainstream" news outlet has hired away a reporter from a right-leaning publication.

By contrast, left-leaning political magazines like the Nation, Mother Jones, or the New Republic have frequently been places where publications like the Post or the New York Times turn to for their reporter farm teams. Elite national media outlets have even taken somewhat frequently to hiring former Democratic political aides as their reporters as we've chronicled for years in our "Revolving Door" series.

Gwen Ifill and the Decline and Fall of ‘PBS NewsHour’
November 2, 2013, 7:00 AM EDT

Over the years, we’ve written a lot about long, slow ratings collapse of broadcast news. But ABC, CBS, and NBC aren’t the only ones experiencing this decline. As reported by David Zurawik of the Baltimore Sun, the ratings for PBS NewsHour show are almost in a freefall, even compared to their commercial competitors.

By its own count, NewsHour had 2.5 million viewers in 2005. This year the show is at 1.3 million. That’s an astonishing drop, nearly 50 percent, unmatched by any of the commercial broadcast evening news shows.

Megyn Kelly Challenges Latest Obamacare Spin: ‘Why Do You Get to Decide What’s Lousy?’
October 31, 2013, 1:54 PM EDT

Now that the falsehood of President Obama’s sweeping claim that everyone who liked their pre-Obamacare insurance plan would be able to retain it under his healthcare law is beginning to sink in, the latest spin from the White House is to push the blame on “bad apple” insurance companies. Their “crime?” Offering health insurance plans deemed unaccaptable by Obamacare which customers wanted to purchase.

Time will tell whether the left-leaning “mainstream” press will begin challening the White House on this latest dodge but one person who was willing to do so was Fox News host Megyn Kelly who went after congressman Frank Pallone (D-NJ) on her program Wednesday night. “Why do you get to decide what’s lousy?” she asked during the heated segment.

Bill Moyers Announces Latest Retirement, Here’s Hoping It’s His Last
October 31, 2013, 12:53 AM EDT

Bill Moyers, the former LBJ press secretary who has made a career of producing partisan Democratic television shows at taxpayers’ expense, announced Wednesday that his latest program, Moyers & Company will end in early 2014.

While Moyers has never openly admitted to his obvious partisanship, his announcement of the show’s cancellation reeks of left-wing identity politics masquerading as news:

Far-left Nation Magazine Blames Tea Party for Postage Rate Increases
October 28, 2013, 9:00 PM EDT

The Tea Party has been blamed for many things by outrage-seeking liberals. Until today, no one apparently thought to blame the political movement for the failure of the US Postal Service to boost its revenues.

In a fund-raising email sent to its subscribers, the far-left political magazine The Nation, claimed it needed more money because the Tea Party was causing postal rates to go up.
