Occupy.com- A Gift from the 1 Percent
April 3, 2012, 10:17 AM EDT

Look out Huffington Post. The Occupy movement has a new website to aggregate content for left-wing activists. While Occupy is known for their claim to represent the 99 percent, suave parties and Hollywood money are what made this venture possible.

Known for taking over New York’s Zuccotti Park and other locations nationwide, supporters now look to occupy the Internet. The liberal magazine Mother Jones reported that the new site launched on April 2 “with financial backing from Hollywood” with the goal of mimicking Huffington Post.

Two Groups Trying to Prevent Breitbart Video Release Also Soros-Funded
March 8, 2012, 10:57 AM EST

Access to the controversial video released of President Barack Obama embracing a radical professor was prevented by two groups funded by left-wing donor George Soros. The two – WGBH and Harvard University – were granted more than $3.5 million was granted to WGBH and Harvard by Soros’s Open Society Foundations since 2000.

The late Andrew Breitbart’s websites posted the edited version of this video on March 7 and appeared on “Hannity” that evening to discuss it. Breitbart.com Editor in Chief Joel Pollack told Hannity that WGBH refused to respond to inquiries about the video in question. In a video played from Harvard Law Professor Charles Ogletree’s class, he told the students, “of course we hid this through the 2008 campaign.” If the video was not incendiary, why did he feel the need to hide it from the voters?

The Lorax Not Just For Trees, Against Plastics
March 5, 2012, 9:04 AM EST

“I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees.” But not just the trees! With the help of Universal Studios, “The Lorax” drank the left-wing kool-aid and has entered the fight against plastics, and anything artificial. To top it off, The New York Times is upset that the movie doesn’t promote environmentalism enough. Really.

In this adaptation of the classic Dr. Seuss book, the screenwriters took a story about saving trees and turned it into an animated flick promoting one of the latest lefty trends, attacking plastics. The movie villain, Mr. OHare, sells air in plastic bottles to the residents of Thneedville. (Selling bottled air has long been the left’s analogy for how silly it is to sell bottled water.)

President of Soros-Funded Group Admits Lying to Acquire Heartland Climate Documents

Peter Gleick of Pacific Institute confesses on Huffington Post to role in Heartland controversy; Soros-funded blog one of first to publish stolen documents.

Soros-Funded Group Admits Lying to Acquire Heartland Climate Documents
February 21, 2012, 11:57 AM EST

Head of the George Soros-funded Pacific Institute admitted to releasing documents from the Heartland Institute that he falsely obtained. The group’s sleazy attack was then promoted by liberal bloggers and quickly gained steam. The story was picked up by the New York Times, Politico and other media outlets.

Pacific Institute, the group that lied in order to obtain the documents, received $275,000 from Soros’s Open Society Foundations since 2006. This vicious attack by the left resulted in the release of information on the Heartland Institute’s fundraising strategy, budget, and plans to combat global warming alarmism.

Muppets Trash Fox News, Host Bolling
January 30, 2012, 2:36 PM EST

Apparently Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog don’t take criticism well. The pair was asked at a press conference for “The Muppets” premiere in London about concerns over the movie’s attack on the oil industry and business.

The Muppets were asked how they felt when Eric Bolling from Fox News discussed their latest movie and said the Muppets were “pushing a dangerous liberal agenda and trying to brainwash children.”

I Am The Lorax! I Speak for the ... Kids?
January 26, 2012, 2:15 PM EST

You'd think that in producing a remake of Dr. Seuss's "The Lorax," Universal Pictures had fulfilled its liberal propaganda obligations for at least this fiscal quarter. After all, "The Lorax" is an environmentalist classic.

Alas, "Mr. Wells' 4th Grade Class" of Brookline, Mass., wasn't satisfied, and thousands of left-wing zealots agreed, signing on to the kids' change.org petition. The petition went after Universal Pictures because the movie trailer and website didn't preach enough about the environment. The movie's website has already been changed to incorporate green tips.

Jon Stewart Wades into BMI Muppet Controversy
December 15, 2011, 1:32 PM EST

When MRC’s Business & Media Institute pointed out that the latest Muppet Movie featured the tired Hollywood cliché of a rich oil man as the villain, left-wing bloggers and comedians ran to the Muppets’ defense. Now Jon Stewart has picked up the mantle. On the Dec. 14 episode of “The Daily Show,” Stewart railed against the Muppet critics, “There are so many controversies this holiday season, but of all of them, only one is the stupidest.”

In a five minute segment, Stewart went after what he deemed the “stupidest” controversy, and brought on guest John Hodgman to defend liberal Hollywood films. That of course devolved into mockery of movies and creatively edited clips such as a “Profitar” spoof based on “Avatar.” (See Video Below)

Soros Cash, Left-Wing Talking Points Fuel ALEC Attack
December 6, 2011, 3:28 PM EST

A hit job on the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) in the Dec. 5-11 Bloomberg Businessweek accepts the liberal mantra that corporations are evil and buy support through shadowy groups. The five page article, "Pssst … Wanna Buy a Law?," is thick with one-sided caricatures of conservative policies could have easily been written by a left-wing blogger.

ALEC is a non-profit that promotes limited government, free markets, and federalism. The do this "through a nonpartisan public-private partnership of America's state legislators, members of the private sector, the federal government, and general public."

Conan Repeats False HuffPo Claim That Fox Business’s Bolling Called Muppets ‘Communist’
December 6, 2011, 10:48 AM EST

A false Huffington Post claim that Fox Business Network’s Eric Bolling called the Muppets “communist” quickly spread to other news and entertainment outlets on Dec. 5. A segment on the latest Muppet villain, oil tycoon Tex Richman, was quickly twisted by the left into an attack on Fox and showed where news organizations and comedy shows get their information.

In the movie, the Muppets are out to save their studio and prevent Richman from destroying it to drill for oil. “Follow the Money” host Bolling said at the end of his segment, “We’re teaching our kids class warfare. What are we, communist China?” Apparently this expression of exasperation caused HuffPo to say he went “McCarthy” on the movie.

Too Easy Being Green: New 'Muppets' Villain an Oil Tycoon
November 30, 2011, 9:04 AM EST

Muppet fans around the world were excited to see their childhood friends reunite; only to find out it was to save their studio from a rich oil executive. Liberal Hollywood loves an evil oil company - better yet, make it a successful business man that runs an oil company. The movie industry has repeatedly bashed businessmen and gone after gas and oil.

Tex Richman, a wealthy man that plans to demolish the Muppet studio after the National Geological Survey finds oil directly beneath it, has his plans foiled by three Muppet fans. They "discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets' former stomping grounds," as described by "The Muppets" website.

Media Consistently $30 Million Short on Soros Drug Funding
October 31, 2011, 10:19 AM EDT

George Soros is up to his old tricks again. The “sugar daddy of the legalization movement,” as conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer described him, has given more than $31 million to the Drug Policy Alliance, which will host its biennial convention Nov. 2-5 in California to build support for the drug legalization movement. But when the media mention DPA, they either fail to note the Soros connection or fall $30 million short on how much he funded them.

Media coverage of DPA has left out Soros’s influence with the group. In the past two years, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, and USA Today referenced DPA 58 times. Only 7 percent (4 of 58) of those stories labeled Soros as a backer of the organization. In those rare times he was mentioned, his contribution was never described as more than $1 million, again $30 million shy of his total donations for the past 10 years.

$3.6 Million from Soros Backs 'Occupy Wall Street', Media Ignore or Downplay Connection
October 14, 2011, 9:07 AM EDT

Left-wing financier George Soros is at it again. While he may claim he’s not behind the Occupy Wall Street protests, funding from his foundations says otherwise. Soros threw his support behind the movement at a United Nations panel on Oct. 3, “I can sympathize with their grievances.” But he does more than just sympathize, his foundations funded groups that back the protests and steer their “progressive” message.

Reuters even posed the question “Who’s behind the Wall St. protests?” on Oct. 13, but downplayed Soros’s actual financial involvement. Even though “Soros and the protesters share some ideological ground,” the story added. But Reuters undersold the connection significantly.

Soros-Backed Voting Study Promoted By Soros-Funded Media
October 6, 2011, 9:36 AM EDT

Once again the media is completely ignoring the fact that an initiative it’s covering was funded by left-wing financier George Soros. The Soros-funded Brennan Center for Justice released a report opposed to new laws needed to combat voter fraud. This story was in turn promoted by Soros-funded progressive news sites that brought it to the national stage.

The Brennan Center for Justice, part of New York University’s Law School, reported that voting law changes “could make it significantly harder for more than five million eligible voters to cast ballots in 2012.” This 64 page report went on to explain that the effects “fall most heavily on young, minority, and low-income voters, as well as on voters with disabilities” and that the “wave of changes may sharply tilt the political terrain for the 2012 election.”

Soros-Funded Group Behind Course for Journalists That Downplays 'Jihad'

Program launched to teach press about Muslim sensitivities blames 'right-wing activists.'
Soros-Funded Group Behind Course for Journalists That Downplays ‘Jihad’
September 29, 2011, 10:04 AM EDT

A new course on Islam designed for journalists tries to minimize the impact and importance of “jihad” by comparing it to the number of murders in America each year. That same course claims “right-wing activists” tried to tie American Muslims to terrorism and doesn’t mention examples of Islamic attacks on press freedom.

That’s the way a prominent news organization is teaching journalists in a three-hour online course. The Poynter News University, part of the Poynter Institute, launched the free course “Covering Islam in America” to guide the media on their coverage of Muslim communities.
