Just imagine the reaction of the liberal media if a video had surfaced of a George W. Bush administration official admitting that “lack of transparency” was “a huge political advantage” in selling the Iraq war and that they relied on the “stupidity of the American voter” to launch an attack on Iraq? That video would be everywhere. However, the clip of ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber using those exact phrases in talking about the passage of the Affordable Care Act has yet to be reported on ABC or NBC’s evening or morning shows.

On November 5, Judicial Watch announced that the IRS admitted “that it failed to search any of the IRS standard computer systems for the ‘missing’ emails of Lois Lerner and other IRS officials.” The admission comes after the government watchdog group made a “request that a federal court judge allow discovery into how ‘lost and/or destroyed’ IRS records relating to the targeting of conservative groups may be retrieved.” So how many networks stories have been dedicated to this latest revelation in the IRS scandal? 0. 

On Thursday, Charlie Rose invited singer-songwriter Neil Young on his PBS show to promote his latest album and played a clip of the Woodstock-generation singer’s first single - basically an anthem against Big Oil called “Who is Going to Stand Up?” In the clip Young calls for the end of fossil fuel and fracking.

Despite a plethora of Democratic candidates this year who have embarrassed their party – from  Wendy Davis attacking her opponent’s disability to Kentucky Democratic Senate candidate Alison Grimes refusing to say if she voted for the President to Nikki Haley’s Democratic male opponent calling her a whore – the Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) networks have been almost silent in airing these stories on their evening and morning shows.

On Thursday, CNN’s Carol Costello offered an apology to the Palin family, via a statement sent to Politico and on her Twitter feed, but so far she has refused to do what even former MSNBC host Martin Bashir did, and offer an on-air apology. Mark Levin made fun of that.

UPDATE: Costello apologizes. When video of Ray Rice punching and then dragging his fiancé around on the floor was released CNN’s Carol Costello justifiably called it “disturbing” and “insane.” But when Costello played the audio of a different woman recounting a similar horrifying experience of being assaulted and dragged around by a man, she told her audience: “Sit back and enjoy.” The difference? The woman in question happened to be the daughter of favorite liberal hate object and former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. 

Former late night talk show host and current stand-up comedian Arsenio Hall made quite the astute observation about The Gipper the other day. Even the liberal Hall noticed there was just something wrong about his car navigation system telling him to take a “left on Ronald Reagan Highway.” 

In the crucial weeks leading up to the midterm elections, the broadcast networks were obsessed with scandals, but not any of the Obama administration controversies that might influence how voters behave on Election Day. No, despite revelations in the Benghazi, IRS, Veterans Administration and Secret Service prostitution scandals it was the NFL domestic abuse scandals that captured the attention of the Big Three (ABC, NBC, CBS) networks.

On Friday, the Washington Post’s Dana Milbank implied something truly dastardly and unpatriotic about Republicans - that they wouldn’t mind if the President of the United States was violently removed from office due to inadequate Secret Service protection.
